Yosh Sombre Negra is unlike any of the other Yosh perfumes. You won’t find white florals or juicy fruits. You’ll find masculine notes like vetiver, patchouli, smoke and leather. Sombre Negra smells pitch black, smoky, and caliginous.
Sombre Negra opens as a smoky vetiver with earth. The smoky vetiver and slightly damp earth/mushrooms are held together by warm, masculine spices. It really is both damp and dry; I find this interesting. Soon an animalic leather appears that reminds me a little of the base of Tom Ford Tuscan Leather. It’s a mossy, cade leather. The leather is bound to the vetiver with masculine, overcast spices. The dry-down is dark, masculine, spicy with tonka and leather.
Notes listed include vetiver, patchouli, cedar, olibanum, pink pepper, black pepper, clove, juniper, citrus, nutmeg, cumin, tonka bean and orris. PERFUMER – Yosh Han
Give Sombre Negra a try if you like smoky, leathery masculine scents, “dark vetivers”, or perfumes like Tom Ford Tuscan Leather, Molinard Habanita, Knize 10, Halston Z-14, Bvlgari Black, and/or Tom Ford Italian Cypress. Sombre Negra is masculine and really a must try if you like those Tom Ford fragrances I’ve mentioned. I feel comfortable wearing this scent and I think many women that wear leather or vetiver scents will feel comfortable in this as well.
I really recommend wearing this on the skin (I do with all scents, but especially with this one). On my skin, the vetiver is very pronounced and the rest is incense and leather. I seriously get vetiver from top to bottom. On others they seem to be getting more patchouli or woods. I think all versions sound good, but this one really seems to adapt to the wearer’s skin.
Sombre Negra has above average projection and longevity.
The 1.7 oz EDP of Yosh Sombra Negra retails for $130 at Barney’s.
Victoria’s Final EauPINION – Smoky leather and vetiver, damp mushrooms and spice. This actually smells aphotic and dark. It’s a really nice addition to the Yosh collection. If this is how she does masculines, I want to see more masculines from her.

I think it’s a nice one but I need to test it more. Though I thought of it more like of “smoky” than “leather” scent. Need to wear it again.

It takes a few turns on me. I really think it wears differently, worth trying again.
