Weekly Cheap Secret:
It isn’t a secret that I love Wet n Wild eyeshadows. The brand gets my vote for best drugstore eyeshadow ever. Here’s my review and swatches of Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio in 383B Knock On Wood, a shimmery trio of mauve shades.
This trio includes the following colors:
“Browbone” – A light dusty, reddish mauve pearl. I find that this shade applies evenly and blends easily. But, I don’t really like to use it on the brow bone because it makes me look like I just had my brows waxed.
“Crease” – A medium brown with plum shimmer. I love this shade. It’s my favorite out of the trio. It’s a rich, pigmented color. Totally worth the $2.99 of this trio.
“Eyelid” – This is a “red plum” or “cranberry” shimmer. It’s a beautiful color but I find that it doesn’t really work with my complexion unless I wear it with warmer shades like gold or honey and use it in the crease.
Below you’ll find a look that I did using only this shadow trio, mascara and false lashes. I followed the compact’s directions and lined my bottom lash line with the “eyelid” shade. And here’s a vintage 1920’s look that I did with this trio.
I think this trio is a great deal. However, I think that mauve/pink shades do not look good on me when used as eyeshadow. I feel the color makes my eyes look tired and bloodshot. BUT these shades can really look great on certain cooler toned complexions with blue eyes. I also think that these shades would look wonderful with hazel or green eyes. And the cranberry shades look good with cool complexions. I think these colors look the most vivid on light to medium complexions.
These trios retail for under $3 and are available at drugstores. Find out more info at Wet n Wild.

You do. I’m making it my goal to collect all of the WnW eyeshadows. I just realized that I don’t have Walking on Eggshells and that trio looks like something I’d wear daily.
I have most of the WnW eyeshadows, actually…but the LE ones and not the original trios that came out when the reboot happened last year. Do you have the Comfort Zone 8-pan? You need that.

I have all 3 of the 8-pans. Comfort Zone is my favorite. I love all of the shades.
My favorite WnW shadows are the 6 pan because I love the mattes so much. I’ve already been through a few Greeds and Vanities.
I need the brown six-pan. I don’t have that one =( Maybe I’ll do a drugstore haul soon, and blame you for it!
