Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Palette Review in Pride & Lust

Weekly Cheap Secret:

Wet N Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Palette contains 6 powder eyeshadows. Each palette contains 3 matte eyeshadows and 3 shimmer eyeshadows. There are 4 palettes in all (each named after a deadly sin). I am swatching and reviewing the palettes, Pride and Lust.

Pride, flash on

Pride Palette: Surprisingly, the colors are mostly true in this palette. The matte shades include a white (with the faintest hint of mint), medium jade green, and a deep royal blue. I love all of these colors. They blend easily. The shimmer shades are a minty white shimmer, a shimmery mineral green, and a shimmery royal blue. I find that the white shimmer shade isn’t very pigmented. It’s sheer, but it does look pretty under the brow bones. But, if used without a primer or base, it will fall. I really think these colors would look stunning with brown eyes. I feel like blues “mute” my eye color.

Wet N Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Palette PrideIn the look above, I used all of the colors in the Pride palette. Pictures are taken with a flash. The colors were easy to use and blended easily (that white really stands out with a flash though). The colors didn’t turn “mucky” when used together. I lined my top lash line with MAC Liquidlast Liner in Blue Horizon. I lined the bottom lash line with Avon Glimersticks Eye Liner in Starry Night Blue. Curled lashes and applied Maybelline XXL Lash Extensions Mascara in Very Black. Oh, I didn’t use a base. Imagine how bold this palette could be with a white base!

Lust Palette: These are also very blendable. The matte shades are a super pale blush, medium warm purple, and a deep smoky purple. The shimmer shades are a bone with silver shimmer, smoky grey with a hint of purple and silver shimmer, and a black with eggplant shimmer. I really like the colors in this palette. They are beautiful and work wonderful together. That smoky grey is awesome; it’s my favorite. I’ve gotten so many compliments on my eye makeup when I wear this compact. I think this compact can work with blue eyes, green eyes, hazel eyes, and brown eyes. Anyone wanting a pigmented purple eyeshadow palette to create a smoky purple eye.

Wet N Wild Color Icon Palette Lust LookIn the look above, I used all of the colors in the Lust palette. Pictures have flash on and off. No base used. The colors blendly so easily and stayed true to color, no murkiness. I lined top lash line with MAC Fluidline in Macroviolet. I lined the bottom lash line with Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Pencil in Zero. Curled lashes and applied a coat of Maybelline XXL Lash Extensions in Very Black.

The other 2 palettes are Greed (think smoky eye shades with peachy neutrals) and Vanity (warm neutrals). I gambled with the more “bold” palettes and they have great pigment for a drugstore brand. Wet N Wild has stepped up their game. I am very happy with this product, especially for the money. I will be buying the other 2 palettes. I also love that each palette contains 3 matte shades. I love a good matte.

Each palette retails for $4.99. These are available at most drugstores. I got mine for $2.50 each during a BOGO event 🙂 More info and store locator on Wet N Wild’s website.

    1. I saw the LE palettes mentioned on Nouveau Cheap but I can’t find them anywhere! I want them so badly. I’ve been very impressed with these.
I think one of the LE has a burgundy shade. I bet you could rock that one in a look 😉

  1. These look great. What a deal! I have seen these at the drugstore but I thought there was no way they could actually be any good. I really want to pick up that blue/green one.

    1. I know. I’ve been burnt by so many products in the past. But, I saw a few swatches online and decided to try them. I’m happy I did!

  2. I picked up Lust and love it! I don’t think I’ve ever used a drugstore shadow that was this pigmented and easy to use.

  3. So many beauty bloggers are talking about these. I must try them! My Walgreen’s has been sold out of Lust for 3 weeks now!

    1. These are awesome and trust me, there is a reason we keep talking about these!
I hope you can get your hands on Lust, it’s a great compact.

  4. These rock! They were just 50% at Walgreens. I bought all 4 and I’m so happy I did! They are just as vivid and as good as you described in your post.
