Rose Week 2016
Every Rose Week, I like to include an all-natural rose soliflore because roses are naturally beauty. This year’s natural is from indie brand, Thorn & Bloom.
Wild Rose opens as an entanglement of fruits, wild weeds and incense haze. I’ve always said that tarragon and rose should be in more perfumes because it’s a stunning combo. And this stunning combo is prominent here. It adds a “green spiciness” to this naturally fruity rose. Wild Rose wears like a blend of crushed rose petals, violet leaves and tarragon. The heart of Wild Rose is a dirtier rose – a rose with patchouli and oud. Think of it like the rose’s thorns. Wild Rose dries down to a resinous amber with a honey-drenched rose that is like rose petals in syrup.
Wild Rose is a good natural rose perfume. It references a rose’s blossoms, thorns and even the earth that surrounds it.
Notes listed include anise, tarragon, raspberry, rose, boronia, orris root, myrrh and agarwood. Launched in 2015. PERFUMER – Jennifer Botto
Give Wild Rose a try if you like natural rose perfumes. Or perfumes like By Kilian In the City of Sin, Guerlain Nahema and/or Providence Perfume Co. Rose 802. Actually, this perfume reminds me a lot of Aftelier Wild Roses. (but they are different, it’s just the closest scent I can compare it to). There’s enough greens and woods in this to attract those that may not usually appreciate rose.
For a natural perfume, this perfume has average projection and above average longevity. The base notes really adhere to the skin.
The 1 oz bottle retails for $200 at Thorn & Bloom. Samples are also available for purchase.
Victoria’s Final EauPINION – Wild rose bramble. If you’re looking for a natural rose perfume, this is a great one to try.
