Thesis Beauty is an indie line of natural skincare and body products based in Massachusetts. They sent this rose lover three products to try:
Body Scrub in Rose Vanilla Sorbet
This is a salt scrub in a thick oil and butter base. It claims to be so moisturizing that most people don’t need to follow-up with creams/oils.
Appearance: It’s currently solid and some of the oils have “risen” to the top (it’s creamy). The base is a light pink with rose petals. The packaging is a thick (almost feels like glass) except it’s a plastic jar (13 oz).
Fragrance: It smells delicious. It seriously smells just like a rose macaroon. I want to eat it.
My Experience: I mixed the product with a spa spoon to distribute the creamy top layer (it’s coconut oil, I think) into the creamy salt layer and to scoop product out. The salt layer is gritty but in a cream base. Even though the texture is more solid, the product is oily. This means that is very nourishing and can take some effort to rinse off. I don’t think I ever actually completely rinsed it off. When I towel dried, my skin felt very moisturized (hence, why I don’t think it was washed off). My summer skin didn’t need an additional moisturizer. It also left a faint fragrance on my skin. Also, be super careful with this (and oil-based scrubs). They do make the shower very slippery.
Ingredients: Sodium Chloride (Himalayan Salt), Soybean Oil, Shea Butter, Virgin Coconut Oil, Palmarosa Essential Oil, Food Grade Flavors, Rosemary Extract, Rose Petals
13 oz jar retails for $24.95.
Multi-Tasking Antioxidant Oil in Rose Garden
This is an oil for hair and body. It can be used like a body lotion, hair serum, bath oil and/or shaving oil.
Appearance: It’s an almost clear oil. The container is a 4 oz amber glass bottle with a pump.
Fragrance: It smells like rose jam.
My Experience: I’m one of those people that prefers oils over lotions/creams (weird, I know). This formula is a blend of oils that my skin and hair loves. The oil is “medium weight” but absorbs fairly quickly. It definitely moisturized my hair and skin. The fragrance it leaves on the skin is just like rose jam smeared on toasted brioche. Once again, I want to eat this.
Ingredients: Organic Oils of Soybean, Sunflower, Cold-Pressed Macadamia, Cold-Pressed Jojoba, Cold-Pressed Rosehip, Cold-Pressed Grapeseed, Organic Essential Oil of Palmarosa, Organic Food Grade Flavor, Organic Rosemary Extract
4 oz bottle retails for 19.95.
Gorgeously Captivating Cream in Rose Vanilla
This is a moisturizing cream for dry, thirsty skin on the hands and body.
Appearance: It’s a solid cream in a 4 oz amber glass jar. It has the appearance of solid coconut oil but thicker.
Fragrance: It smells like rose buttercream frosting.
My Experience: A little bit of this stuff goes a long way. It’s very concentrated. I like to scoop out a small amount with a spa spoon and warm it up in my hands and then apply to my body (or just my hands). The formula itself is very smooth. Many natural creams/butters that aren’t whipped can be clumpy. This one isn’t. Actually, it feels a lot like the Multi-Tasking Antioxidant Oil on the skin. The scent is sweet like rose buttercream frosting but with more of shea butter scent once spread over the skin. It leaves my skin moisturized. I didn’t try this but I think it could be used in the hair (coarse and/or dry) like a smoothing treatment or even as a deep conditioner/hair mask. I also think it could be great for those concerned with stretch marks or improving the texture of dry, dehydrated skin. It’s definitely offers a more luxurious sensory experience than just using raw shea butter or coconut oil
Ingredients: Organic Raw Shea Butter, Organic Oils of Sunflower, Virgin Coconut Oil, Cold-Pressed Jojoba, Organic Essential Oil of Palmarosa, Food Grade Flavors, Organic Rosemary Extract
The 4 oz jar retails for $22.95.
If you like scents like LUSH Rose Jam or Andy Tauer Rose Delight Body Oil/Rose Flash perfume, I can really see you liking the scents of these. It’s a sweet, gourmand rose instead of a dewy tea rose. The products are great if you like natural products that have a heavier texture that deeply nourish. I’m one of those people that loves heavy moisturizers so I’ve loved all three of these products. However, my favorite is the Multi-Tasking Antioxidant Oil because my skin and hair loves those ingredients.
All products are available at Thesis Beauty.
Additional info: Products are cruelty-free (PETA and Leaping Bunny certified), vegan and made in the USA. They also make natural skincare for the face and unscented products for babies, children and those with sensitive skin.
Holy shit these sound awesome. I love rose everything. I’m particularly drawn to the lotion because I love heavy lotions, they feel so luxurious. I don’t need another moisturizing bath scrub, oil, OR lotion, because I have so much already, but I’m super tempted!
I don’t need anything else either! Help, I can’t be stopped! Anyway, these do smell really good (assuming one likes sweet roses and I do).
My favorite thing in the world is to do my nightly beauty ritual, layer up in heavy oils/creams and basically marinate in them while I watch Netflix or read. I even have a robe that has been designated to take the abuse, lol. But, it leaves my skin so soft and wonderful that I don’t have to mess with it in the morning (no moisturizing). The Thesis oil has been really great for my hair too. Not too heavy for me.
Oooh the rose oil sounds awesome and by the looks of things they ship to Australia 🙂
Yay! International shipping!
