The Lipstick League – week of 7.25.16

Question of the Week: it’s a two-parter this week! Name the last beauty product you finished, and one beauty product in your stash that you know you will never finish.

EauMG’s Answer: Luckily, I keep up with my Empties 🙂 The last product I emptied was a Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Serum. The product that I’ll never, ever finish has to be Guerlain Météorites Pearls! Has anyone in the history of makeup every used up an entire jar of these?! And to top it off, I have three of them because I couldn’t resist limited edition packaging.

Gouldylox – I spent last weekend at CosmoProf and while I’m overwhelmed by the entire experience, I learned something really valuable about myself and found a mantra that changes how I think about food. Could it help you, too?

My Beauty Bunny – Rumor is this palette is an out of this world, glitter-lovers dream come true! See our verdict: Urban Decay Moondust Palette Review, Swatches & Tutorial

My Newest Addiction – Laura has been in Hawaii all week, so it is only fitting that she share a hair tutorial on Big Beachy Waves.

Olive & Ivy – How cute is this super easy mermaid nail art? Totally doable for beginners (like myself!)

Phyrra – Feeling fatigue from all the makeup palettes coming out? I bring you a little levity with a new Anti-Haul video!

we heart thisPut some Browder of your brows! They’ll look a lot bretter…er…better!

Beautygeeks – tells a tale of a stinking-hot airport, a West Jet system shut-down, a two-hour (plus 1.5 more) lineup, and the magic that revived the spirits and humour of 20 weary beauty editors.

Blushing Noir – Bring on the nostalgia with the MAC Good Luck Trolls makeup collection!

EauMG – has found the perfect beach musk perfume! It smells like manoï on warm skin.

Gouldylox is Currently Craving: I love lipsticks and when I find a formula that rocks my world, I want to collect them all. In this case, it’s the new Amuse Bouche lipstick from Bite Beauty. The color Kimchi was my BFF last week and while I can’t wear that color daily, I don’t want to wear any other formula right now.

*Guerlain Météorites circa 2000 from Fragrantica. It’s so fitting with the current revival of alien-inspired highlighters. I had that fragrance back in the day too. I miss it.

  1. I have gotten sort of close to finishing a container of Guerlain Meteorites, but I do have one that has about 20 perles left. Of course I have had them for a really, really long time

    1. I feel like whenever I open the container more of them were born!

In conclusion, Guerlain Meteorites are a great value 😉

  2. I’ve always wanted Guerlain’s meteorites but never took the plunge. My skin isn’t perfectly smooth thanks to some rolling acne scars and I think anything with sparkle is going to emphasize that? Idk. Maybe I want it for purely aesthetic reasons- so glamorous! But good to know that it will last forever!
One thing that I have finished is my Lush shower gels. Both rose jam and yummy mummy. My boyfriend was particularly fond of rose jam which I had been using sparingly. At least he smelled great!

    1. I don’t find that these really emphasize imperfections. It’s really, really subtle and smells like violets. Mainly, I bought them because they’re glamorous. I also can’t resist some of their limited edition ones (like the Pucci one).

I still have a bottle of Rose Jam left 🙂 This is the first year I’ve actually had some left throughout summer! I’m currently using Don’t Rain of my Parade which is OK. It’s a sweet violet and vetiver.
