The Lipstick League – week of 5.16.17

Question of the Week: We all go through phases when it comes to beauty products, so tell us what you’re really into right now. Makeup? Skincare? Fragrance? Haircare? Or…?

EauMG’s Answer: This is so true. I’m always going through these phases. As of right now, I’m so into skincare. And not just any skincare, I’m super into sunscreen for the face and body. You should see my Amazon cart right now…I feel like it’s a worthwhile investment, right? And why does all the sunscreen in the US totally suck?! The other thing that I’m into is lightweight serums/gels that specialize in MOISTURE. This mainly means I’m into products with hyaluronic acid and things that trick me into thinking it’s made from exotic special crap that makes people live forever. What phase are you in right now?

Nouveau Cheap – Ulta has added so many new brands to their website over the past few months, but did you hear about these two brands that will be available (very) soon?

Phyrra – Do you have problem skin but hate caking on foundation? I share my Glowing Light Coverage Foundation Routine for Problem Skin!

Prime Beauty – Ding dong, Avon calling! Color me impressed with the updated color rich Avon True Color Nourishing Lipsticks! Read my review and see swatches.

we heart this – Feel the power of the BUBBLE!

Beauty Junkies Unite – I’m getting ready for some bright summer fun with the new MAC Fruity Juicy Collection!

Blushing Noir – Just when I thought Chrissy Teigen had slayed every aspect of my life she went ahead and did a collab with BECCA Cosmetics, proving she actually IS my spirit animal. Check out the Glow Face Palette here!

EauMG – I’ve decided I just want to smell like the French and Italian Riviera this summer. And this aromatic citrus from Tonatto Profumi smells just like that.

fanserviced-b – I tried the pricey, Instagram-famous Hanacure zombie mask and the results were pretty horrific.

Gouldylox – Bored with your beauty stash? Here are ten reasons you need to update your routine right now!

My Beauty Bunny – This week, we reviewed the entire Urban Decay x Basquiat collection in a 2 part series. Check out them out here!

(Wondering what the Lipstick League is? Find out here.)

Nouveau Cheap is Currently Craving: I just discovered that Tocca has hair fragrances now, and I’m super excited to try them (especially Cleopatra, since I love the idea of my hair smelling of grapefruit and cucumber).

^^^This is pretty darn awesome.

  1. Have you tried the Biore Watery Essence SPF 50 sunscreen? It is Japanese – you are so right about other countries having way stronger sunscreen game – and it absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave a white residue on my skin. I have gotten fanatical and like to have one in reserve since it takes a little bit for it to arrive.

    1. Yes, I have one I’m using now 🙂 I’ve been using its different variations throughout the years. The one I have right now isn’t the ’17 version but the LE Summer ’16 rose. I love that stuff. I think anyone that thinks sunscreen is ashy, shiny and uncomfortable MUST give the Biore a try because it’ll change their life.

I do this too. I order sunscreens from Europe and Japan about 2 months before they’re out. It takes so darn long to get here. I’m lucky enough to buy in person if I need to but often they are very expensive (convenience, import fees, NYC city taxes).

  2. OMG there was a LE rose last year‽ Where was I?? I would love to read about your favorite sunscreens.

    1. Yes! I stumbled across 2 bottles in Queens. Maybe someone else has more intel than I do, but I was told they typically make a rose version every summer. But, my question is, if that is true, why haven’t I seen it before? Anyway, it’s exactly the same except with a light rose-y fragrance and in a pink bottle.

I hope to get a post up in June – one for face and one for body. I have many favorites. This sounds crazy but I tend to have about 5-6 that I rotate throughout the week based on my activities, forecast, etc.
