The Lipstick League – week of 5.23.11

Hope you are having a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend!

Question of the Week: What’s a brand that you absolutely love but can’t afford?

EauMG’s Answer: Amouage.

Phyrra – shows you the Science Collection, a.k.a. Portal! 30 thoroughly tested colors that are a Triumph!

we heart this – The Frédéric Fekkai Essential Shea Collection made our hair feel like a big stick of butter (that’s a good thing)!

Beauty Junkies Unite – Amber shares a few shades of perfectly neutral polish from the new Jessica Cosmetics Carte Blanche Collection. Which one is your favorite?

EauMG – EauMG reviews a savory, Bohemian perfume by DSH Perfumes that would fit right in at the Moulin Rouge.

Nouveau Cheap – There’s something for everyone in the Milani HD Advance Lip Color range. Oh the pretty colors!

Orange to LA – is feeling blue, but in a good way thanks to Paul & Joe Summer 2011 L’Horizon Bleu Collection, check out pictures and swatches of her favorite pieces!

Pink Sith – Suffers from Lonely Cart Syndrome (LCS). Read about the gem she discovered in Lipstick Queen’s Butterfly Ball Lipstick during one of her recent outbreaks.

***This week I have sniffed so many awesome fragrances. Did you know that the original Ralph Lauren Polo is amazing? Weird stuff, but really good. My list of fragrance loves has grown this week. I have a 4 day weekend, but the weather here is terrible. I accept there is nothing that I can do about it and that complaining does nothing 🙁

  1. Polo was a surprise – i’ve started casing ebay for bottles.

I managed to get a sample (finally!) of the original Egoiste by Chanel from Nordstrom today. I think I am still in love with it. It’s really sweet though.

    Amouage is pretty amazing…

    1. You won’t believe where I went today? I actually got the courage to visit TJ Maxx. Why? Because I had in my mind that they had Polo. Well, they didn’t. Actually, I take that back. They had a little gift set of Ralph Lauren masculine minis for $25. The only thing I wanted was the original Polo so I didn’t buy it.

I’m checking out the discount sites. I really want a mini for myself. I can see why a guy would want a full-size bottle. It’s amazingly good. So interesting and weird but familiar.

I haven’t fallen for all of the Amouage, but when I do fall, it’s hard. See, they actually smell expensive so I forgive their price point.
