The Lipstick League – Week of 4.9.18

Question of the Week: We’re right in the middle of Sephora Spring Bonus time; 15% off this weekend for Rouge, VIB and Insiders. So, what are you buying?

EauMG’s Answer: The coupon is tempting. However, I’ve determined that I need spring clothes more than I do spring makeup/skincare/fragrance. As of right now, I haven’t bought anything and don’t plan on buying anything. However, I’m over here looking at shoes. Do you like these Camper ones or these Grey Matters one better?  And what spring fashions are you into right now? I need some inspiration other than my all-black bag dresses.

Slashed Beauty – Have you had your eye on the Urban Decay Naked Petite Heat palette? Miranda shares swatches, three of her go-to looks using the palette, and whether or not it’s worth your money.

we heart this – Psst, you know The Lipstick League is having a mega beauty giveaway right now, right? 29 products worth $1000!

Blushing Noir – Just when you think it’s impossible to find a drugstore dupe for one of your favorite, high-priced lip liners you stumble upon a hidden gem!

EauMG – I have reviewed a niche perfume that has “living stallion” as an accord listed. Seriously. “Living stallion”.

My Beauty Bunny – is sharing her thoughts on the brand new launches from Physicians Formula. The 24 Karat serum is made with REAL GOLD!

Painted Ladies – Did I hear sale? Sephora’s Spring sale is here and Sheila has a list of makeup and beauty must haves to snag with your Sephora discount code.

Phyrra – Do you have a thing for Limited Edition Makeup or are you tired of it? Check out the Limited Edition Makeup Tag Video!

Prime Beauty – Looking to add some volume to your limp locks? I tried 3 products from the Nanogen Hair Thickening line and pumped up my volume!

Realizing Beauty – What are your thoughts on the monochromatic makeup trend? The Urban Decay Backtalk Eye and Cheek Palette is the perfect way to experiment with the look in beautiful tones of pink.

Slashed Beauty is Currently Craving: Last week at the salon, my stylist used the Mizani 25 Miracle Milk Leave-In Treatment on me and it transformed my hair! It’s a little pricey compared to what I normally spend on my hair products, but it left me with silky, shiny and totally frizz-free hair that I couldn’t stop running my fingers through. I need to get a bottle for myself so I can get that salon feel at home.

^This stuff sounds ah-mazing.

  1. I like both shoes, but I’m leaning towards the Grey Matters ones. I think it’s because they show them on a woman’s feet, so I don’t have to imagine what they look like on. But for the price difference, I think the Campers would make you just as happy. I haven’t done much thinking about spring wardrobe updates. I need to shop my closet and actually do some hand washing because I have quite a few shirts out of rotation because I’m lazy. I am going shopping with a friend next weekend and then there’s my San Diego trip next week, so we’ll see what random stuff I find. I am considering these shoes: https://www.dsw.com/en/us/product/born-bowe-flat/431322?activeColor=680

    1. You’re probably right. The advantage of the Campers too is that they are light/flexible so surprisingly comfortable in that design. I really want something that I can wear that’s a bit more “business” for the summer (AKA not my usual Birkenstocks!). I’m wiling to invest in them since they are “work” shoes, I guess. I still, at the end of the day, do not want to spend big money (I have found some Grey Matters in a dark green for $250 cheaper!). My current ones that fit my “boring work shoe” are Gucci Princetown mules but I want something with a mini heel that could get me from spring into fall.

I LOVE THOSE. Now I want those in black for my summer casual. I love shoes that don’t expose my toes (gross NYC) and how they seem like they are lightweight. I also love the tan version of those but gross NYC would have those grimy in a day 🙁 I’m going to have my eyes on these. DSW *usually* sends out some good coupons. Anyway, these Born ones remind me of Trippen, a brand I like but don’t buy because they don’t hold up well for the price.

Same. I went through stuff this weekend. I need to get stuff cleaned or handwash and that would expand my wardrobe. Also, San Diego has some good shopping. I bet you’ll find some spring/summer stuff there!
