The Lipstick League – Week of 3.10.14

Question of the Week: On average, how often do you make impulse beauty purchases? What type of product is your biggest weakness?

EauMG’s Answer: It is extremely rare for me to make an impulse beauty purchase, perfume included. My beauty purchases are usually planned and my perfume purchases come from “my list”. I’m like this with everything, including clothes, shoes and home goods. I have my lists, a book of them. I live in too tiny of a space to bring things in that I won’t use. Also, travel is my priority this year (that’s where my extra cash goes these days). I have a couple of domestic trips planned as well as two international trips. Now I may impulse buy when I get to these locations…but in Seattle, I go off my lists.

Clumps of Mascara has found the best nail polish top coat ever. No really, it’s pretty incredible.

EauMG – is kicking off festival season with a review an indie fruity-floral perfume roll-on that reminds her of hip Southern music festivals.

Gouldylox Reviews – Can a hot scissor hair cut change your life? Or just steal your money? I did the research to find out.

Lipglossiping – goes all out gaga for a gourmand skin treat that leaves you smelling of hot-buttered popcorn. Do you know what it is yet?

My Beauty Bunny – has teamed up with The Humane Society and beauty bloggers around the world to make a video in honor of #BeCrueltyFree week. Please watch and share to help spread the cruelty free message!

Nouveau Cheap – There’s a new collection of jelly polishes now hitting drugstores! Come check out the Sally Hansen Limited Edition Palm Beach Jellies.

Pink Sith – gives you her top 10 wish list beauty items for Pantone’s Color of the year in Radiant Orchid!

Prime Beauty – goes nude (in spirit only) with the new Maybelline Dare To Go Nude Color Tattoo Eyeshadow Collection–a drugstore gem!

Phyrra – shares her Top Ten Cruelty Free Radiant Orchid Beauty picks.

we heart this – What do bacon, Mr. T, mug shots and Rosa Parks all have in common? Why don’t you click here and find out?!

  1. if i had that kind of control i could probably have afforded three more months in amsterdam… but no… for example, this tuberose trip i am on put me back 56$ just last night… and i don’t even know if i LIKE these frags.

essential oils and frags. that’s where the money goes.

would seriously be cheaper to get a boyfriend.

    1. I’ve went through phases. I’ve bought tons of samples, decants, etc. unsniffed. And I don’t regret it. It was fun and sniffing ALL the things made me happy. These days I’m finally in a place health-wise and financially where I can travel internationally. In 2014, this is my priority.

Now, boots. Ugh. I’ve spent way too much on those this year. Boots are my weakness. But, The Lipstick League didn’t ask me that 😉 I’ve seriously got to cut back on those. Nordstrom flagship brought in Alexander Wang and I couldn’t resist…

Just may be! Just stay away from those that smell like baby powder!

  2. *LAUGH* no problem with the powdery frags!

BOOTS!! well, luckily my Demonia 20 eyelets have done me well for .. wow.. over 8 years now! hm. maybe i DO deserve a new pair. but until i can figure out a way to get away with wear those over the knee MiuMiu’s Madonna is constantly rocking (without entering Jinx Monsoon territory) i’ll stick to these. besides, under a nice dress pant, they look like nice, but trendy dress shoes.

    1. I walk 15-20 miles a week and I wear shoes out. I try to justify my boot habit by considering them my car. And a nice pair of boots are cheaper than a car payment.

I was wary of buying Demonia at first because online reviews are so mixed on quality. I ended up buying a pair because the price was right. They’ve held up great, in fact better than most of the Fleuvogs that I own. I’ve had my pair for six years and I’m really impressed.
