The Lipstick League – week of 11.2.15

Question of the Week: What are some of your must-haves (so far) from the Holiday 2015 collections?

EauMG’s Answer: I’m trying my best to be good this year. This means that I haven’t really paid attention to any new launches. However, I will probably end up getting the NARS Fantascene Cheek Palette because I want blushes of Despair. I will also buy a bottle of LUSH Rose Jam Shower Gel when it’s available.  Now if space and money were no object, I’d also be picking up Guerlain Météorites Perles des Neiges just for the cute little stars. I also love the colors in most of the Chanel Vamp Attitude Collection. I’ve really been craving red/wine shades. The colors in the ColourPop Holiday Eyeshadow Blitzed look like a lot of fun too. And I’d love to try a few of the Haus of Gloi Yule products in scents like Snow Wolf and Eggnoggin. What about you?

  1. Have you see the Cle de Peau Bal Masque collection? If money were no object that would be it for me…..the coffret *and* the nail polishes. As it is, a bottle of Lush Rose Jam shower gel might be the height of my decadence.

  2. I hear that cheek palette is thing to get from the collection and I am in total agreement with you on Guerlain’s meteorites and Chanel’s vamp. Come on, lotto! But before I really start saving i’ve already spent a bit- as you know I’m on a candle kick so I got the Nest hearth and mini holiday candles. I’m trying to hold off of that diptyque set but I’m not sure how long I will last! I was in a lush store last night and they had Rose Jam so I got my fill of shower gels. Everything smells so good! I was planning to get the origins ginger shower set but now I think I’ll hold off on that. See? Saving money already!
It seems I placed an order with haus of gloi right before they put up the Yule stuff, darn it. It’s always difficult with limited editions. I feel the same way with Bpal – So many smells, so little time. How does Elizabeth do it! Seriously, Halloween and Christmas at bpal must be so much work. They also did a Crimson Peak (love the movie!) line, too. Such an awesome company.

    1. Oh, and there’s a new tom ford black orchid eau de toilette on the Sephora site. The regular one is an eau de parfum and apparently they have different notes. I love black orchid so I’m thinking of a blind buy. I dunno, kinda doesn’t work with my whole saving money thing…

    2. I’m so shallow that I only want the blush palette for the name and packaging. That’s why holiday collections exist, I suppose.

Ugh, it’s impossible to save this time of year. I’ve come to terms with this. It’s the worst time ever to try to save because it’s constant temptations. My new approach is to set a budget and try to fit in whatever within that budget and not go over it.

For real. They stay busy! They must start working in Feb. for holiday! Years ago, I bought a BPAL holiday one, can.not. remember the name to save my life but it was a crisp rose. Still have it, soooo pretty and very much unexpected for a holiday scent.
