The Lipstick League – Week of 10.30.17

Question of the Week: What does your ideal mascara do, and which one comes close to delivering it?

EauMG’s Answer: My lashes are pitiful. I have thick, very short, very straight lashes. Basically, I want a mascara that can do it all. But, mascaras are like people. They can’t do it all. I realize this. That’s why my history with mascara has been full of compromises. Saying that, there are some formulas that I like. In general, I don’t prefer drier formulas because my lashes are already thick. I want length and curl. I wear contacts and I can’t be having mascara flakes in my sensitive eyes (this rules out a lot of volume and curling formulas). I like Pacifica Dream Big Lash Extending Mascara and Clinique Naturally Glossy Mascara for more “natural” days. I realize these aren’t for everyone but I like them for less dramatic looks. Right now my favorite mascara is L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise. It’s the closest one for me that “does it all”. It’s more dramatic, which I need because I’m not blessed with long, luscious lashes. That L’Oreal gets me to where normal people are with any ‘ole mascara formula.
