L’Artisan Parfumeur Mechant Loup EDT Perfume Review

L'Artisan Mechant Loup

L’Artisan Mechant Loup is nothing to be scared of. This is a sexy, spicy woods fragrance.

Although I have worn Mechant Loup and enjoyed it, I still prefer it on other people, especially my spouse. In my opinion, it leans more masculine. It’s a sweeter, woodsy, spicy scent that smells good without being boring. Mechant Loup opens with warm spices and nutella. It’s gourmand without being overly gourmand-y. The heart smells like cedar chips dipped in honey and left in the sun to dry. The dry-down alone makes me want to have a bottle to spray on all my linens. It’s a honeyed hazelnut and rich, boozy tonka bean.

Notes listed include hazelnut, honey, sandalwood, cedar, licorice and myrrh. Launched in 1997. PERFUMER – Bertrand Douchafour

Give Mechant Loup a try if you like sweet, woodsy scents or are looking for an interesting “masculine” that everyone else isn’t wearing.

Projection and longevity are above average. It’s an EDT but wears like an EDP.

The 1.7 oz retails for $95 at Beautyhabit. Samples are also available for purchase.
