Terveer is a line of perfume oils inspired by the founder’s mother, “an unusually cosmopolitan farm girl with a passion for beauty“. When I was introduced to these perfumes at NY NOW, I was attracted to their cosmopolitan simplicity. The scents The best way I can describe that is by comparing it to food, like how sometimes a simple caprese salad can be better than anything else in the world. Terveer is like a market fresh caprese salad served on a gorgeous serving ware.
Green is inspired by growing up in Southern Minnesota, acres and acres of green grasslands. Green opens with a fresh, cool greenness that’s like ivy and freshly cut grass. It gets warmer with an addition of dry pink pepper and bitter, green fig leaves with something cucumber-y. The dry down is like figs with a “earthy greens” of moss and vetiver. Green lives up to its name. It’s green.
I didn’t grow up in Minnesota. I haven’t ever been there, but Green reminds me of summers in the South from the hills of Tennessee to the endless, abandoned cotton fields in Georgia. It reminds me of farmland on a summer morning. And that’s exactly what the brand was going for.
Notes listed include green ivy, galbanum, pink pepper, fig wood, crushed fig leaves, oakmoss, vetiver and sheer musk.
Give Green a try if you like fresh green or grassy scents. Or perfumes like Annick Goutal Ninfeo Mio, MAC Greenify, CB I Hate Perfume Wild Pansy, Diptyque Eau de Lierre, Dolce & Gabbana Velvet Vetiver and/or Imaginary Authors The Soft Lawn.
It’s a perfume oil so it wears closely to the skin. Longevity is average to above average. It’s a perfume oil but it doesn’t feel “oily”. It’s lightweight.
The packaging is refillable and can be refilled with any of Terveer’s perfume oils. I like to pretend that packaging doesn’t matter to me but that may be a little delusional. Let’s be real. When it comes to frivolous luxury products, I expect nice packaging. And as far as perfume roll-ons go, this is the most luxurious packaging that I’ve ever seen. It’s sleek and it *feels* expensive (if that makes any sense).
The 7.5 ml perfume oil and case set retails for $95. Refills sell for $70. Empty case retails for $60. All available at Terveer and Beautyhabit. Samples are also available for purchase.
Victoria’s Final EauPINION – Green, grassy fig. I like green. I like figs. And I like grassy. So yeah, I like this one.
