YOSH Sottile EDP Perfume Review

YOSH Sottile

Rose Week 2016

Even if you are an occasional reader of EauMG, you probably have picked up that I love roses. I love rose fragrances, skincare and even as something to eat. I’m always looking for an excuse to sample and talk about rose perfumes. And this is why every year on February 14th, EauMG has “Rose Week”. This is an entire week where I can indulge my rose obsession.

I’m kicking off this Rose Week with one of those rose perfumes… Continue reading

YOSH U4EAHH! 2.43 EDP Perfume Review

YOSH U4eahh

YOSH U4EAHH! (euphoria) is the self-described “carefree” perfume in the collection. I knew I’d struggle with this one. It’s “carefree” and the notes are fruity. I tend to feel uncomfortable wearing stuff like this.  I’m just not carefree enough. I’m not cute enough.

U4EAHH! is fruity with pears and melons. It starts to smell like cucumbers and watermelon Jolly Ranchers. Some of the “juiciness” remains and blooms into a dewy, cool floral with an ozonic musk. The heart reminds me of freshly sliced sour Granny Smith apples… Continue reading | 10 Comments

It continues… Continue reading | 3 Comments

YOSH Omniscent .96 EDP Perfume Review

YOSH Omniscent EDP

Within the niche market, it’s popular to offer soliflores and perfumes that smell like a place. What I’m surprised by is just how simple most niche perfumes smell like: fig tree, church incense, lipstick, etc. I’m not saying that anything is wrong with that. But, what I’ve noticed is that many niche lines aren’t doing “big” perfumes that smell like you know, perfume. YOSH Omniscent EDP is one of those big perfume-perfumes.

Omniscent opens as a Powerhouse with a capital /p/. It reminds me of Dior

EauMG in NYC: Elements Showcase August 2012 Re-Cap – Trends

Last week I was in NYC. While I was there, I attended the Elements Showcase. This is a biannual highly-curated event that showcases niche perfumes as well as a few skincare and cosmetics brands organized by Frederick Bouchardy (Joya), Ulrich Lang and Jeffrey Lawson.

Elements Showcase

When one goes to one of these events, they expect to sniff stuff. They expect to take pictures of new launches and feel special for seeing it first. Honestly, I can get all of this info from the not-so-comfortable 1930’s banker’s chair… Continue reading | 6 Comments
