Palimpsest is a new fruity-floral perfume by Aftelier that “captures the feeling of being in the Garden of Eden at midnight: lush, wild florals, forbidden fruit, and majestic creatures in hiding.” And I can see that. When wearing Palimpsest, I was brought to mind of Gauguin’s paintings inspired by Polynesia. Palimpsest is bright and tropical without smelling like other perfumes in the “tropical fruity-floral” genre.
One of my favorite indie (and natural) brands, Providence Perfume, has launched six perfume oils…due to customer demand. Providence Perfume Co. has been in business for years but their brick and mortar perfumery has only been open for year. And the perfumer has found out a lot about her customers and perfume lovers. For example, they wanted perfume oils because of their portability. And well, some people just like oil based perfumes.

California Naturel is a line of natural skincare products that are naturally scented with essential oils. The brand likes to talk about what they don’t have: they’re free of parabens and sulfates.
Quick reminder of my skin type: I’m super dry. My biggest concerns are with discolorations and preventing future damage. However, this summer has been warm and I have no air conditioning, so my skin has been much more “greasy” and gross feeling than usual.
