Eric Buterbaugh is a well-known floral designer based in Los Angeles. Last year, he launched a line of perfumes, Eric Buterbaugh FLORALS, inspired by the medium he knows best – flowers. Mainstream Monday – Sniffing a Popular Perfume
The launching of Girl was a big deal for the “mainstream world” for a few reasons:
Reason 1- The the celeb in this case had enough sense to not only align themselves with a designer, but a designer line that produces a lot of good, trendy perfumes. While reading through the copy and watching the video for Serge Lutens La Fille de Berlin, I felt an uneasiness. I couldn’t describe it but it made me feel uneasy, the video in particular. It seemed like some sort of rapist-y fantasy directed by Jean-Luc Godard. The copy, the esoteric video, the interviews with Lutens left me feeling uneasy in a way that a perfume has never done before. I’m a fan of the Comme des Garçons Play perfume line. It’s a fun line that fits the clothing brand perfectly. I have a feeling with launches like Amazingreen (which wasn’t amazing or green) and Black, that these will be outshadowed by similar sounding perfumes from the same perfume house within a year of launching. I’m not going to let you forget these, OK.

Haven’t had enough of Twilight yet? Bath and Body Works has launched a fragrance line Twilight Woods for men and women. I live in “Twilight Woods” so I had to give this a try.
