Eric Buterbaugh FLORALS Regal (Tuberose) EDP Perfume Review

Eric Buterbaugh Regal Perfume

7 Days of Eric Buterbaugh*

Eric Buterbaugh is a well-known floral designer based in Los Angeles. Last year, he launched a line of perfumes, Eric Buterbaugh FLORALS, inspired by the medium he knows best – flowers. The Noses work with Firmenich, creating many of my most-worn perfumes from designer to niche. I’m dedicating a week to reviewing this line because like Eric Buterbaugh, I too love florals.

I love floral perfumes; yet, I’ve never really shown my enthusiasm for tuberose soliflores. I have… Continue reading

Comme des Garcons x Pharrell Williams Girl EDP Perfume Review

CdG and Pharrell Williams Girl

Mainstream Monday – Sniffing a Popular Perfume

The launching of Girl was a big deal for the “mainstream world” for a few reasons:

Reason 1- The the celeb in this case had enough sense to not only align themselves with a designer, but a designer line that produces a lot of good, trendy perfumes. AND a perfume that crosses over into mainstream/designer and niche. This makes folks take this perfume “more seriously”. This also makes it something that will be sold at stores… Continue reading | 8 Comments

Serge Lutens La Fille de Berlin EDP Perfume Review

Serge Lutens La Fille de Berlin

While reading through the copy and watching the video for Serge Lutens La Fille de Berlin, I felt an uneasiness. I couldn’t describe it but it made me feel uneasy, the video in particular. It seemed like some sort of rapist-y fantasy directed by Jean-Luc Godard. The copy, the esoteric video, the interviews with Lutens left me feeling uneasy in a way that a perfume has never done before. Regardless of interpretation, I think that most of us will agree that the backstory is… Continue reading | 26 Comments

Comme des Garcons PLAY Black EDP Perfume Review

CdG Play Black

I’m a fan of the Comme des Garçons Play perfume line. It’s a fun line that fits the clothing brand perfectly. I have a feeling with launches like Amazingreen (which wasn’t amazing or green) and Black, that these will be outshadowed by similar sounding perfumes from the same perfume house within a year of launching. I’m not going to let you forget these, OK.

PLAY Black opens with tons of pepper. It’s a pepper mill of black pepper, red pepper and pink pepper all over your… Continue reading | 5 Comments

Bath & Body Works Twilight Woods for Men Body Wash Review

B&BW Twilight Woods for Men Body Wash Review

Haven’t had enough of Twilight yet? Bath and Body Works has launched a fragrance line Twilight Woods for men and women. I live in “Twilight Woods” so I had to give this a try. (I am not a fan of the Twilight series. I only like for my vampires to be Bela Lugosi or created by Joss Whedon). Twilight Woods for Men is a dry woodsy fragrance. I think of the fragrance as unisex. It isn’t overly… Continue reading | 5 Comments
