Jo Malone London Lime Basil & Mandarin EDT Perfume Review

Jo Malone Lime Basil & Mandarin

Mainstream Monday – Sniffing a Popular Perfume

It’s that time in summer where I try really hard not to complain but it’s like 100° and I’m fed up with the summer’s oppression. This is the time of the year where I have to be careful with which perfumes I wear because something that I usually love can quickly become “too much”. As boring as it sounds, I wear citrus or herbal scents.

Lime Basil and Mandarin opens as a green… Continue reading

Raw Spirit Summer Rain EDP Perfume Review

Raw Spirit Summer Rain

Raw Spirit¹ Summer Rain is a fragrance inspired by summer thunderstorms in the Florida Everglades².

Summer Rain opens as tangy citrus zest. It smells exactly like zesting a lime. In addition, the grapefruit adds a bitterness to the natural sweetness of the lime. This opening is hyper-realistic. The Different Company Sel de Vetiver EDT Perfume Review

The Different Company Sel de Vetiver

One of my favorite genres of perfumes are those that bring to mind the sea. Many of us that lived through the 90’s have an aversion to the perfumes labeled “aquatics” that were usually in some blue bottle fronted by some topless ripped guy covered in water droplets. Bruno Fazzolari Lampblack EDP Perfume Review

Bruno Fazzolari Lampblack

According to the brand (and other retailers), Lamblack by Bruno Fazzolari is the brand’s most popular perfume in regards to sales. According to perfume people, I’d say it’s the brand’s most popular perfume. Lampblack is a perfume inspired by India ink. The fragrance wears like soot and oil-burning lamps.

Lampblack reminds me of worn leather. And ink. Lampblack is dark and smoky with glimmers of light. It opens with citrus and a dry, spicy black pepper. It flickers between citrus oils and soot, much… Continue reading | 4 Comments

Prada Luna Rossa Fragrance Review

Prada Luna Rossa

Mainstream Monday – Sniffing a Popular Perfume

When it comes to designer perfumes, Prada holds a steady list in my favorites. I think a lot of what they do is really good. They’re interesting but wearable in many different environments and seasons. When I want to smell good but don’t want to think about it, I usually wear something like Prada Infusion d’Iris or Prada Candy. I’m not as familiar with their masculines because they don’t really “work” on my skin… Continue reading | 2 Comments
