Montale Tropical Wood EDP Perfume Review

Montale Tropical Wood

Like so many other Montale perfumes, a name is just a name. If you’re trying Tropical Wood in hope of some sort of “tropical woods”, you’ll probably be disappointed. Now if you try the perfume because you think the note list sounds good, then you probably won’t be disappointed. Tropical Wood is like a fruity rose and leather. This is a combo that I didn’t even know that I wanted in my life until I tried this.

It’s fruits and leather. And for some reason, I’m all about… Continue reading

Terveer Incense & Gardenia Perfume Oil Reviews

Terveer Incense

A few months ago, I was introduced to the Terveer line. It’s a line of perfume oils housed in a a luxurious refillable vessel. I reviewed Green, a fragrance that really lives up to its name. There are two more in the line and here’s my impressions:

INCENSE

Incense is like a smoky, sweet incense. It’s exactly the sort of fragrance that I’m craving in late fall. It’s an effervescent, citrus-hued frankincense over exotic smoky woods. What I like about Incense, is that there’s… Continue reading | 4 Comments

Thorn & Bloom Bird of Paradise EDP Natural Perfume Review

Thorn & Bloom Bird of Paradise

Thorn & Bloom is a new artisanal botanical perfume brand that launched last month. So far, I’ve tried a few from the brand and I’m rather impressed, especially with the floral compositions. Bird of Paradise is an unreserved white floral that is a contrast of cool white florals and warm resins.

Bird of Paradise opens as an intoxicating white floral with a juicy pineapple sweetness. The scent blossoms into an indolic jasmine. This is a huge, heady and very realistic jasmine. As it wears… Continue reading | 5 Comments

MIKMOI Ao EDP Perfume Review

MIKMOI Ao

MIKMOI Ao is an aquatic floral perfume inspired by the bays and beaches of the Andaman Sea. Ao is one of those new aquatic pedigrees that won’t remind you of anything sold at malls in the 90’s. I love seeing indies newly interpret aquatic and ozonic fragrance genres. Ao is a sheer, veil-like aquatic with tropical fruits and florals that is a lovely olfactory tribute to Thai beaches.

Ao is ripe tropical fruits and tuberose. Salt air and smoky driftwood. When wearing Ao, it’s like being in a different… Continue reading | 10 Comments

April Aromatics Tempted Muse EDP Natural Perfume Review

April Aromaics Tempted Muse

April Aromatics Tempted Muse is a perfume inspired by ambrosia, “The Nectar of the Gods”. To me this sounds so serious, like do I really deserve to smell like Gods? (No need to answer that). I do love the idea of an ambrosia fragrance, but when I wear Tempted Muse, I don’t think it’s overly serious. It’s a scrumptious fruity floral that seems more attainable than something only for Gods. It makes me think of the beauty of Central American beaches or like a beach-destined honeymoon… Continue reading | 10 Comments
