Masque Milano Terralba EDP Perfume Review

Masque Terralba perfume

When I first wore Masque Milano Terralba I was reminded of a place that I’ve never been. It’s a place on the Mediterranean coast. A little house with terracotta pots filled with herbs. A little house on built on a cliff. A little house surrounded by wiry evergreens and bright blue saltwater. The sun always shines on this little house.

Terralba opens as aromatic and peppery with balsamic greens. Yet, there’s an aquatic quality to Terralba – fresh and salty. It’s like where sea air meets… Continue reading

MCMC Garden Natural Perfume Oil Review

MCMC Garden Perfume

Oh, summer is ending and really the only thing that I mourn is the produce. Fresh basil, plump tomatoes and berries are the only way I’ll put up with heat. MCMC Garden is a perfume oil inspired by Anada Harvest, a group of urban farmers. Fifty percent of the proceeds of Garden is donated to this group. Garden smells like its name.

Garden opens as an herbal blend of thyme and boxwood bushes. It smells exactly like an herb garden. There’s lemon verbena, lemon… Continue reading | 4 Comments

Histoires de Parfums Ambre 114 EDP Perfume Review

Histoires de Parfums Ambre 114

Here’s my deal with ambers. I love them. They were my first fragrance “true loves”. I wanted them all. I wanted to smell them all. I wanted to spray all of them on every visible part of my skin on my body. I couldn’t get enough of them…so I thought. I go through amber-crazed cycles and then I burn myself out and I never want to smell another amber again. And it sucks because I buy all of the ambers and then want nothing else… Continue reading | 9 Comments

The Scent of Departure AUH Abu Dhabi EDT Perfume Review

Scent of Departure Abu Dhabi perfume

The Scent of Departure is a line created by Gerard Ghislain, the man behind Histoires de Parfums. I talk about this in my review of VIE Vienna. AUH Abu Dhabi is the type of amber that you could find yourself wearing in cool climates as well as warm climates. It’s “savory” but it also has a refreshing lift from notes of citrus, thyme and geranium.

Abu Dhabi opens as a soft amber with bright citrus and a medicinal dried thyme. If… Continue reading

Clarins Eau Dynamisante Perfume Review

Clarins Eau Dynamisante

Clarins Eau Dynamisante is one of those perfumes that I wear a lot in the summer.

It opens with notes that really help this live up to its invigorating name. It shocks my senses with a burst of lemon zest. It smells like herbs – thyme, rosemary and lemon balm. However, this entire fragrance is grounded by patchouli. Overall, it’s such an invigorating fragrance that I wear as a body spray.

Longevity is below average. In fact, this is sold more as a body treatment instead… Continue reading | 2 Comments
