Tauer PHI Une Rose de Kandahar EDP Perfume Review

Tauer Phi EDP

Tauer PHI Une Rose de Kandahar is a perfume inspired by roses grown in Afghanistan. Being that it is a perfume containing actual roses from Kandahar, availability is rather “iffy” with this one due to the harvest and logistics of getting rose oil out of the region. Because of the name and the emphasis of the use of Kandahar rose, I expected a really rosey-rose fragrance. Phi is a rose fragrance but there is much more to it.

Phi is a spicy rose. In the beginning… Continue reading | 6 Comments

Tauer Cologne du Maghreb Natural Fragrance Review

Tauer Cologne du Maghreb

Cologne du Maghreb is an all-natural classic eau de cologne by Andy Tauer. This is Tauer’s project of recreating traditional eau de cologne but adding his own signature.

Cologne du Maghreb is an aromatic citrus. It’s like lemons and licorice. And then it wears as big ‘ole lemons. It’s bright and sunny. There’s a hint of spicy neroli and clove. And then it dries down to “woodsy aromatic”.

Overall, it’s a rather uncomplicated fragrance. It’s a lemon eau du cologne made from botanicals. Projection and… Continue reading | 3 Comments

Tauer Lonestar Memories EDT Perfume Review

Tauer Lonestar Memories

My grandparents are pretty cool people. They’re the old people that are engaged and get out and do more stuff than I do. I’ve talked about my grandmother before in reviews mentioning her bluntness and glamour. I get my love of baking, fondness for black clothing and rhinestones and my love of red lipstick from her. I don’t think I’ve talked about my grandfather before. He’s in his 80’s and still rides his motorcycle around and when I say around, I mean he packs up the saddle… Continue reading | 8 Comments

Tauer Pentachord Auburn EDP Perfume Review

Tauer Auburn

Two girls stand in front of the mirror, a reflection of made-up faces and jaundiced yellow tiles.

Jennifer, give me your lip gloss“, says Ronni as she fluffs her auburn hair and wishes she had her hairspray with her. Her mother has seized all possible inhalants. Damn Barbara Walters.

Jennifer hands her the lip gloss and they share tales of weekend escapades and awkward dates with boys they don’t even like. They hide in a stall and smoke Virginia Slims. Gloss covered cigarette butts go down the toilet with… Continue reading | 10 Comments

Tauer Tableu de Parfums Miriam EDP Perfume Review

Andy Tauer Miriam

It’s very rare for a perfume to “naturally” tell you a story. So many perfumes are without a soul try to replicate the success of last year’s blockbuster. Other perfumes only tell a story because of savvy marketers that accidently got it right this time by planting that story in our minds. The best perfumes in my mind are the ones that tell you a personalized story, one that maybe you’ll be the only one to hear. As soon as  Tableu de Parfums Miriam touched my… Continue reading | 11 Comments
