Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier Santal Noble EDT Perfume Review

MPG Santal Nobile

Many years ago when I first became interested in niche perfumes, I was obsessed with ambers and sandalwoods. Over a decade later, I rarely wear perfumes that fit into this genre. It’s not that I dislike them, I just don’t find myself wearing them that often. They don’t fit with my current mood or environment. However, there are a few that I still wear. Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier Santal Noble is one of them.

Santal Noble is like spicy, saffron coffee beans with oak. It’s bitter, green… Continue reading

Raw Spice Bar Subscription Overview & A Review

Raw Spice Bar

Raw Spice Bar is a monthly subscription program that sends small spice packs with a regional theme. You also receive recipes that show you how to use your spice blends.

This isn’t really “perfume” related but I think it applies to Perfume People. We tend to appreciate flavors as much as we do scents. Tom Ford Extreme EDT Fragrance Review

Tom Ford Extreme

Mainstream Monday: Sniffing a Popular Perfume

Tom Ford Extreme reminds me of a perfumer’s interpretation of Western U.S. forest fire. But, since it’s a Tom Ford perfume, I’m highly suspicious that it is an interpretation of a super sexy firefighter.

Tom Ford Extreme exists to be a smoky wood and tarry leather fragrance. Like many of the “regular” Tom Ford fragrances, the… Continue reading | 3 Comments

Sweet Anthem Ella, Petra & Owl EDP Perfume Reviews

I know I’m whiny. I complain about the cold. I complain about the rain. And now I’m complaining about summer. I’m over it. I feel like I’ve had enough of this summer of 80º+ heat, no a/c and a bedroom on the top floor. I’m romanticizing fall and look forward to balmy days.

I’m also looking forward to fall perfumes. Ella and Petra are two limited edition perfumes in Sweet Anthem’s seasonal Fall ’14 Collection.

Sweet Anthem Ella

Ella has notes of agarwood, black tea, lavender and pumpkin.

Annick Goutal Vetiver EDT Cologne Review

Annick Goutal Vetiver

It may surprise some people because not many perfume lovers declare this, but I love aquatics. Now before you start judging me, give me a chance. I don’t love melon/cucumbers that verge into household cleaner territory. I love salty, mineral scents that remind me of the sea. Unfortunately, the 90’s ruined this “ocean” genre of perfume for most people. But, I promise, there are some really great ocean inspired perfumes out there and Annick Goutal Vetiver is one of them.

Vetiver is well, vetiver with brine… Continue reading | 7 Comments
