ROSE WEEK 2019 – A Leathery Rose

It’s Rose Week on EauMG! This is the annual celebration of rose-centric perfumes! This week I’m reviewing 5 fragrances that display a different aspect of rose perfumes.

Every Rose Week, I try to focus on one or two rose-centric perfumes that I think people that usually don’t love roses will stand. I am basically trying to get ya’ll to join my decadent and enlightening Cult of Rose. If you don’t think you like rose, let me introduce you to Thameen Nassak.

Masque Milano Montecristo EDP Perfume Review

Masque Montecristo

If you read reviews of Masque Milano Montecristo, you’ll notice that it evokes people to tell stories. Sometimes these stories are of a personal nature. Sometimes these stories are completely fictional but filled with vivid details of time and place. When it comes to perfumes, I don’t think there is a better sign than this. It’s a reminder of a time you never lived and a time that you seldom heard discussed. It’s a scent of contrast. Like grasping a tiny, faded rose print dress from a big, dark steamer trunk.

Ambra di Luna opens with white floral mothballs and… Continue reading | 1 Comment

Smell Bent Winterrific 2014 Perfume Collection Review

Smell Bent has launched their limited edition perfume collection, Winterrific, just in time for the holidays. These are new takes on Smell Bent’s old holiday favorites.

Here’s my reviews for all four in this collection:

Smell Bent Dr. Dreidel 3000

Dr. Dreidel 3000 with notes of oud, Malaysian sandalwood, guaiacwood, hiba, “designer musk”, vetiver and amber incense.

Every winter, Smell Bent makes a “dreidel” fragrance. I remember Dr. Dreidel from 2010. It was a spicy green perfume that reminded me of Drakkar Noir. This one is really different. Dr. Dreidel… Continue reading | 2 Comments
