This is the 4th essence in the Les Or*entalistes collection. The cool thing about this scent is that it lacks “top notes”. It also doesn’t get its muskiness from direct animal sources. Lately, I’ve been smitten by musky ambrette seed and other “musk” plant sources. I’ve been craving “soft” scents. Musc Nomade is the ultimate soft musk scent. It is my favorite “soft musk” perfume.
Musc Goutal is beautiful. Throughout the wear it smells of a “dry-down”. It wears softly and closely to the skin. I like musk scents because of the way they… Continue reading | 13 Comments
UK brand, Balm Balm, relaunched their 7 varieties of organic single note perfumes. Why the relaunch? Because Balm Balm is now bigger and better. These natural beauties are 3 times larger than before for exactly the same price! The packaging is now kinder to the environment. The boxes are printed with organic ink and the boxes are “carbon neutral” (meaning that they came from recycled sources and are completely recycable).
Scents include: Bergamot, Lavender, Mandarin, Petitgrain, Rose Geranium, Spearmint, and Ylang Ylang.
Each organic perfume can be… Continue reading | 1 Comment
When I purchased this fragrance oil I was thinking of fall. I thought that an apple scent would be very nice for October. I was expecting something that would remind me of leaves crunching under my Frye boots in the orchards of Washington. This is not a fall fragrance. You know the apple used in sour candies and… Continue reading | 4 Comments
I can’t get enough of orange blossom/neroli scents this summer. It is very difficult to find “guides” online, so I’ve created a brief collage/guide to fragrances which are heavy on this light, bitter floral. There are many scents on the market with these notes. I’m focusing on those that are heavy on orange blossom, like a splash of a refreshing Lebanese floral water in an iced beverage. I am looking for those “delicate” scents. From what I understand orange blossom and neroli are the same thing it just depends… Continue reading | 1 Comment
I didn’t know that I loved the scent of grapefruit so much until I bought this product. I used to shy away from grapefruit in scents because it was A. too sweet and sugary or B. cat piss. I didn’t hate grapefruit, I just stayed away from it because cat piss is hard to pull off. L’Aromarine Pamplemousse is a “rugged” citrus blend. It is bitter, fresh, but is still sweet like a grapefruit. This oil is just enough of the peel and the fruit. It is a… Continue reading | 2 Comments
