Nez a Nez Atelier d’Artiste EDP Perfume Review

Nez a Nez Atelier d'Artiste

In college all of the cool kids that you’d never know their names would hang out at some silly cocktail party sharing sorry Kerouac-ized versions of their young, misunderstood lives. These cool kids had oodles in common for kids that were so “different”.  But one of the common factors I noticed is that they liked to talked about how they modeled for “artists” (which was really them modeling at some community college’s non-credit drawing classes). I don’t know why they would always bring this up… Continue reading | 3 Comments

Viktoria Minya Hedonist EDP Perfume Review

Viktoria Minya Hedonist perfume

I’ve never enjoyed the company of those that intentionally denied themselves pleasure. These are the people I’ve learned to avoid on this journey throughout life. I’m a committed hedonist until the day I die.

Viktoria Minya is a Hungarian perfumer residing in the tantalizing city of Paris. Hedonist is the first perfume to launch in her namesake line. A name like “Hedonist” is a lot to live up to when you’re selling to card carrying pleasure-seekers. But, I think Viktoria nailed it.

Mainstream Monday – Sniffing a Popular Perfume

Vince Camuto is a shoe designer and has designed the very popular Tory Burch “Reva” ballet flat. He has been involved with tons of projects. There’s a Vince Camuto clothing line and perfumes.

L’Artisan Parfumeur Vanille Absolument/Havana Vanille EDP Perfume Review

L’Artisan Parfumeur Havana Vanille is sweet. It’s more “vanille” than “Havana”. So, perhaps that is why the name has been changed to Vanille Absolument. Or because of a lawsuit.

L'Artisan Vanille Absolument EDP perfume

Havana Vanille opens with a balsamic vanilla bean pod with a spiced rum. The vanilla is a realistic vanilla bean pod. It seems “leathery” and oily. The rum is there and I like it. But, the clove throws my nose off a bit. It’s medicinal to me. But, with some… Continue reading | 10 Comments

Villainess Blood and Jai Mahal Soap Reviews

It’s time for me to tell you that I love Villainess Soaps. They are highly fragrant, aesthetically pleasing, lather nicely and leave the skin lightly fragranced. I also love the packaging and the look of the entire line. Here’s my review of two of the more “boozy” scents:

Villainess Soaps in Blood and Jai Mahal

Blood – “Merlot grounded in dry fig and inspired by a ripe bouquet of berries“. Blood is a fresh fig poached in tart red wine. It’s dark and mysterious. Blood isn’t overly “fruity”… Continue reading | 2 Comments
