Do you ever see a perfume bottle and already know what it smells like before even trying it? I feel like the packaging of Parfums de Marly Delina basically says it all. This ornate pastel pink packaging looks like it belongs in Marie-Antoinette’s apartment. It’s one of those bottles that is presenting itself as traditionally FEMININE as it possibly can. So, of course, I expected a floral and I expected for that floral to have a lot of roses and peonies. Guess what? Delina… Continue reading | 6 Comments
One day I was waiting for a friend. During this time of boredom I found myself sniffing Bond No. 9 perfumes and hoping that I wouldn’t tumble over these colorful class bottles wearing exaggerated shoulder pads.¹ Success! No embarrassing accidents at the nice department store! The sales associate approached me, which I wasn’t in the mood for because I was going to waste her time. I wasn’t going to buy a Bond No. 9 that day (or any day, I don’t own any). Long story short, she… Continue reading

February is over! March is here. Which is great because I’m so over winter and I’m so ready for spring.
Here’s what I bought in February: I repurchased La Roche-Posay Toleriane Hydrating Cleanser. I also bought some Kneipp on sale (they’re holiday gift sets were marked down). I bought LUSH Godiva Shampoo Bar. OMG, that stuff smells amazing. It’s a skanky jasmine. Honestly, I thought I’d use it as a bar soap because I have had rotten experiences with bar shampoos in the… Continue reading | 10 Comments
When I want to smell “pretty”, I like to wear Les Parfums de Rosine. Their specialty is pretty, romantic rose-y perfumes. When the house launched Rose Nue in its pretty blush pink bottle with a jade green accent, I knew this was something I’d have to try. The concept, the colors…it all fits in perfectly with the Parfums Rosine image.
Rose Nue opens with bright aldehydes, similar to those found in perfumes like Chanel No. 5 Eau Premiere. Rose Nue wears like a soapy, clean aldehydic floral… Continue reading
