More 1950’s Fashion: Get the Makeup Look of Arlene Dahl

1950's style icon Arlene Dahl

I love this classic makeup look of Arlene Dahl’s. It’s just as elegant today as was in the 1950’s. A line of black liquid eyeliner and untouchable red lips are always a winner in my book. I’m calling this one the “cocktail party” look. This classic evening look works for so many complexions. Here’s what I did to get this 1950’s Arlene inspired look:

FACE: Arlene’s complexion is flawless. I’m jealous. With my Elizabeth Arden Foundation Brush, I… Continue reading | 5 Comments

More 1960’s Fashion: Get the Makeup Look of Ursula Andress

Ursula Andress Makeup Look

Ursula with black hair and I love it! I’m guessing this pic is from the 60’s or maybe the early 70’s. I can’t find many pictures as Ursula Andress as a brunette so it’s difficult for me to “date” this one. Anyways, I love a dramatic eye makeup look. Who doesn’t? This gal is a real glamor, vintage at heart. She may have a degree in something boring, wear off-the-rack clothing, and have to clean her own… Continue reading | 8 Comments

More 1960’s Fashion: Get the Makeup Look of Marina Vlady

actress Marina Vlady
I will never grow bored of a red lip. It’s instant “polished” in a tube. Marina’s look is so effortless French 🙂 .It’s all about the lips. A quick swipe of red lipstick took a very basic makeup look and made Marina glam. Here’s the colors I used to create a similar 60’s era (I think) Marina look:

FACE: Skin is even and slightly dewy. I applied with a cosmetic sponge, Lancôme Absolue Makeup in Ecru 10. Use a “dewy” finish foundation. Under the… Continue reading

More 1980’s Fashion: Get the Makeup Look of Joan Jett

Does anything make you cringe more than the thought of 80’s makeup? Yes, and that’s most likely big 80’s hair! So, I’ve tried to copy this Joan Jett makeup look. I’m not “going there” with the hair! (I’m already embarrassed as is!) I’m going to see if one can rock an 80’s rock’n look that Joan is sporting here. If not, it makes a cool Halloween look 🙂 I feel the answer is “not” and here’s an 80’s Joan Jett look for Halloween. Here’s what I used to achieve this Joan Jett look:
