EauMG’s July 2015 Favorites

July was an uneventful and much welcomed “chill” month for us. After the past few months, we’ve needed some time to recover. We’re also not use to heat and humidity after being spoiled by mild Seattle weather, so we often feel like taking it easy on the weekends (easy meaning hanging indoors with a/c). I hate complaining about the heat when I know that winter is going to be brutal, but we’re not used to extreme weather. We’re wimps.

EauMG’s April 2015 Favorites

Jersey City
Manhattan via the Jersey City perspective.

All I can really say is that April flew on by. Like what the hell? It’s the middle of May and I still can’t process that April is over. I really hope that summer doesn’t go at this accelerated pace.

1950’s Fashion – Get the Makeup Look of Lena Horne

1955 Lena Horne Album Cover

Does anything make you cringe more than the thought of 80’s makeup? Yes, and that’s most likely big 80’s hair! So, I’ve tried to copy this Joan Jett makeup look. I’m not “going there” with the hair! (I’m already embarrassed as is!) I’m going to see if one can rock an 80’s rock’n look that Joan is sporting here. If not, it makes a cool Halloween look 🙂 I feel the answer is “not” and here’s an 80’s Joan Jett look for Halloween. Here’s what I used to achieve this Joan Jett look:

Etro Messe de Minuit EDT Fragrance Review

Etro Messe de Minuit EDT review

OK, I’m a closet goth. I like deep aubergine lipstick, thick black eyeliner, and darkwave. I don’t appear very “goth” since most people associate this with what they remember from high school: Hot Topic, crushed velvet, and Wet n Wild black lipstick. Anyways, what I’m saying is that I tend to like “gothic” (moody) fragrances too: dark, mossy, mildewy, smoky incense. This is why I had to try Etro Messe de Minuit (midnight mass). Etro Messe de Minuit is a gothic… Continue reading | 11 Comments
