1970’s Fashion: Get the Makeup Look of Elga Andersen

This isn’t usually the type of look that we moderns think of when we think “70’s”. This is classic babe. Classic babe doesn’t really change. Here’s what I did to get this Elga inspired look:

FACE: Under the eyes with my fingers, I applied Covergirl Simply Ageless Concealer in Corrector. With a foundation brush, I applied Lancôme Absolue Makeup in Ecru 10. I go over that and blend/soften with a Beautyblender. With a powder brush, I applied Rimmel Stay Matte

Jean Peters

This is one of my favorite portraits of Jean Peters. It is the color combo. I love lime and hot pink together. Also, it’s a beautiful and simple look. Timeless. And her brows should win a lifetime achievement award. Best. Brows. Ever.

Weekly Cheap Secret:

I’m a Revlon lipstick fan. Over the past few years, they have really stepped up their game. The colors have always been fantastic but the formula felt really heavy and there was a terrible flavor/scent. That’s all gone now and I own many Revlon lipsticks. My most recent purchase is Revlon Matte Lipstick in Stormy Pink 011.

More 1930’s Fashion: Get the Makeup Look of Joan Blondell

So, this photo is rouged to heck and I can’t get a similar look without doing the same, but I still like the makeup look. It’s a playful look that works for light to medium complexions. Here’s what I did to get a 1930’s Joan Blondell inspired look:

FACE: Being rouged, the face is quite “cakey”. With my fingers, I applied Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation in Nude. People like to use a buffer brush with this foundation, I… Continue reading
