Opus Oils Birthday Bash & A Fragrance Freebie!

Collaboration is essential to the world of perfume. Without muses, we wouldn’t have half of the classics we still wear today. One of the many things that appeals to me about the indie lines is collaboration. I’ve seen perfumers make scents for indie stores and galleries. I’ve even seen indie perfumers make perfumes inspired by blogging projects. I have to say from my experience that the most diverse and prolific collaborator is Kedra Hart of Opus Oils.

EauMG in NYC – Elements Showcase Re-Cap

I visited NYC in late January. On my trip, I visited The Elements Showcase. And yes, I’m finally getting around to writing about it. Now let’s jog my memory…

Here’s a best of list that I compiled from the limited perfumes (in comparison to new launches) that I tried this year. Personally, I thought 2011 was a good year for… Continue reading | 39 Comments

R.I.P. Mona di Orio

Mona di Orio
1969-2011

On Friday, perfumer, Mona di Orio unexpectantly passed away. Like most of the fragrance community, her friends and family, I was shocked and without words unable to fully process this tragic news. I somberly put on the bright perfume, Lux, and had a “blog day of silence”. The world lost a talented artist and a passionate perfumer. Mona drew in old and new fans with Les Nombres d’Or Collection launched this year. I’ve loved her Signature Collection since the moment… Continue reading
