EauPEN Thread – Pretty Bottles

Jean Paul Gaultier Fragile

Have you ever purchased a perfume just for its packaging?
I hate to admit this, but I have. These days I rarely buy full-size bottles. But, there was a time I’d buy a bottle of perfume just because I liked the bottle. Those days are long gone but here’s what I remember buying just for the bottle:

EauPen Thread – I’m Sick of It!

What perfume note or style are you currently tired of?
OK, so this question isn’t asking if there is something within the industry you’re sick of sniffing. I’d like to know if there is a note/genre that you have burnt yourself out on or never really liked in the first place.

I check my stash before I buy and I’ve unsubscribed from a lot of emails to resist temptations. But… Continue reading | 4 Comments

Recently Allure published an article in their July 2017 Diversity/”American Beauty” Issue, “The American Perfumers Modern Approach to Fragrance” by Liana Schaffner that briefly covers the rebellious spirit of American niche perfumery. I’m always delighted to see my interest introduced to a broader audience; however, there was something so curious about this article. Out of all the brands and perfumers interviewed¹, none were female. There was a total erasure of women in perfumery. Which is so unfortunate because I feel like there would have been no niche or indie perfumery in the US if it weren’t for women!… Continue reading | 19 Comments
