EauMG’s Guide to Fig Perfumes

fig perfumes

When I first starting writing EauMG many years ago, I couldn’t get my hands on enough fig-based fragrances. Friends would email me links to every fig perfume they encountered online or in person. I loved fig perfumes and it was great timing – it was one of the trends in niche perfumery at the time. Over the past 9-10 years, I’ve easily sampled hundreds of fig perfumes. I also have bought more than any person would ever need. My obsession with figs started “Pre-Perfume-Era” for me.… Continue reading | 31 Comments

Olivine She Belongs There Perfume Oil Review

Olivine She Belongs There

Last week, I reviewed a natural perfume with a realistic gardenia note. This perfume ignited an olfactory craving for gardenia. I went through my collection and samples looking for gardenia-centric perfumes. I came across some Olivine Atelier perfume oils that are white floral focused. Right now, She Belongs There is satisfying my gardenia cravings.

Amayori Okinawa Natural Perfume Oil Review

Amayori Okinawa

Amayori has launched a new limited edition seasonal perfume for Summer 2016, a natural perfume inspired by summer evenings in Okinawa.

Okinawa opens with a sharp, gingery lemongrass. This lemongrass starts to wear as something that reminds me of lemon verbena, like lemon zest and green grass. They dry-down is like a creamy gardenia.

It’s… Continue reading | 1 Comment

Parfums de Coeur Skin Musk Perfume Oil Review

Parfums de Coeur Skin Musk

Drugstore Divas Week – 2016

This week I’m revisiting popular perfumes available at US drugstores. The sort of perfumes that many of us know but many of us perfume lovers completely ignore.

Young Victoria used to wear Skin Musk oil over Parfums de Coeur Malibu Musk¹ body spray. I spent years smelling like fruits smothered in musk. Eventually, I graduated to full-blown headshop musks and aged patchouli (because those felt much more alt-cult and “cool”).

If you’re into perfume and didn’t wear Skin… Continue reading | 17 Comments

LURK OM 011 Natural Perfume Oil Review

Lurk OM 011 perfume

LURK is a line of natural perfumes made in New York that I’ve been meaning to try since their launch in 2012. But, you know how it can be with so many launches; it’s easy to only focus on what is literally in front of your nose.

LURK OM 011 is a natural perfume centered around oud and is described as one of the most “hedonistic” perfumes in the brand’s line-up (which consists of ten perfumes).

Without reading the note lists or copy, I immediately… Continue reading | 5 Comments
