Years ago, when I tried (and fell in love with) Memo Shams Oud, the brand was impossible to get in the U.S. I had a kind “mule” bring it back from Paris. Fast-forward. Now the brand is everywhere in the United States! This is good. Accessibility is a wonderful thing. However, maybe it was the exchange rate, but I didn’t remember the full-size bottles being so pricey. Global expansion must come with some hefty costs.
Like many other designer brands, Thierry Mugler has also launched a line of “exclusive” (AKA more expensive) line-up of perfumes sold at select locations and costs a lot more than their other fragrances. I guess this shouldn’t surprise me since everyone has a more expensive, limited distributed line of perfumes all in uniform bottles. But, I guess this is also what surprised me. PURPLE FLOWERS WEEK 2017
It’s an annual tradition on EauMG to feature “purple flowers” on the week of Nowruz/Vernal Equinox. “Purple flowers” are what I call flowers that (usually) have purple blossoms and bloom in spring: lilacs, violets, iris, heliotrope, hyacinth and wisteria (when I’m feeling generous). These are the sort of florals that make me think of spring. Plus, it gives me an excuse to talk about some of my favorite floral notes.

Zoologist Perfumes is a Toronto-based niche perfume line with as you can see, adorable packaging. The line currently consists of three perfumes. With my introduction to the line, I wanted to try my favorite animal offered, Panda. In general, I really connect with giant pandas because we both eat all of the time and wear too much eye makeup.
