Bette Davis 1940 vintage makeup look

Happy fall! I love this 1940’s pic of the magnificent Bette Davis. I can’t think of a better look to welcome fall! So,  here’s my modern day interpretation of this lovely, classic look:

FACE: Apply a foundation such as L’Oreal Visible Lift Foundation in your shade. Apply concealer where needed. I’m using Covergirl & Olay Simply Ageless Concealer. Apply a dusting of loose powder to set foundation and to provide a “vintage” finish… Continue reading | 4 Comments

More 1940’s Fashion: Get the Makeup Look of Gail Russell

1940's style icon Gail Russell

I love this cute Western photograph of Gail Russell. And you know I love orange lipstick. And I love dark hair. So, this is a look that I really, really like. I find this look really does work well with complexions similar to Gail’s. The coral/orange lipstick really makes blue eyes pop and it’s a nice contrast with black or brunette hair colors.  To get this look:

FACE: Gail has a flawless complexion. Apply a foundation primer such as Smashbox Photo Finish Targeted

The makeup is nice too…I have to get as many coral looks as I can before fall 🙂 Coral is my favorite lipstick to wear but I feel silly wearing it in the cooler months. This Old Hollywood look works with so many complexions. Here’s how to get it:

More of the 1960’s: Get the Makeup Look of Beatrice Altariba

Beatrice Altariba

This is a beautiful vintage look inspired by French actress Beatrice Altariba. I love orange lipstick! To get this look:

FACE: Beatrice has an even and dewy complexion. Apply a primer if needed. I like Illamasqua Satin Primer because it illuminates the skin and contains sunscreen. Apply a cream foundation such as Shiseido Advanced Hydro-Liquid Compact Foundation in your shade. Apply with the sponge and blend. Apply concealer if needed. Paul & Joe Under Eye Concealer is nice for dark circles. Orange lipstick will… Continue reading | 3 Comments
