Elizabeth & James Nirvana Amethyst & French Grey Perfume Reviews

Mainstream Monday – Sniffing  Popular Perfumes

For a mainstream, designer line, Elizabeth & James has some really solid scents. I love Nirvana Rose and Nirvana Bourbon is a really great vanilla perfume. When I heard that the brand launched two new perfumes, Amethyst and French Grey, I couldn’t wait to try them. I tried them as soon as they came out and here I am in December finally reviewing them. I guess that says really all you need to know about how I feel about these:

Precious Liquid Pure Collection Reviews

Precious Liquid Pure

Precious Liquid is a new brand of perfumes founded by wife and husband (Geo, a model turned entrepreneur and Richard Herpin¹, a classically trained perfumer).  The perfumes are labeled as if they are single note/soliflores but they are more complex than their names imply. Precious Liquid encourages layering of their scents. There’s an option to buy fragrances in a set, 3D Set², so that you can layer as you please with perfumes that were built to work with one another. Or you have the option to wear them… Continue reading | 5 Comments

Parfums Rosine Cologne Rose Ocean Perfume Review

Parfums Rosine Cologne de Rose Ocean

Parfums de Rosine Cologne Rose Océan is a new unisex perfume inspired by a rose growing near the ocean.

Rose Ocean opens as a bright citrus with a juicy blackcurrant. There’s an orange blossom in this that reminds me of grape jelly (don’t worry, it’s still an orange blossom). The heart isn’t aquatic in that perfumery sense of the “aquatic”… Continue reading

Jardins d’Ecrivains George Perfume Review

Jardins d'Ecrivains George

I seem to talk about this a lot, but I’m always surprised when a perfume line chooses to launch a fragrance with “grand inspiration“. It’s too much pressure! There have been a few perfumes inspired by French novelist and icon, George Sand¹. But, if I were a new, relatively unknown small brand, I’d be so intimidated to take on such a task! Jardins D’Écrivains is braver than me and launched George.

George opens with heady white florals of camphoric, cool jasmine and that oily, rich sort… Continue reading

Yves Rocher Secret d’Essences Neroli EDP Perfume Review

Yves Rocher Neroli perfume

Mainstream Monday – Sniffing a Popular Perfume

I’ve been very open about my love of all things roses. But, I have been less vocal about my love of all things orange blossom and neroli. I don’t even have a type. I’ll wear a  fresh, green neroli just as often as I’ll wear a sweet, syrupy orange blossoms. I love a classic “eau de cologne” and perfumes that basically smell like a splash of orange blossom water in mineral water. One of these days, I’ll put… Continue reading | 9 Comments
