Les Exceptions is the more “luxurious” collection of Mugler fragrances. There’s woods, florals, leather, and of course, there’s a “cologne”. I don’t want to cloud this review with my love of Mugler Cologne, but I feel like I can’t review this without talking about the original Mugler Cologne.¹

It was my birthday month and people are nice. I received some lovely bath/beauty gifts. I also graduated with Masters of Science! So, May 2018 was a very busy month for me and also a very happy one.
I bought a full-size perfume! I bought Diptyque L’Ombre Dans L’Eau. I also bought a leave-in conditioner from Suave, which actually works and I can’t get over how cheap it is, and a L’Oreal conditioner.

But, what if I like my mimosas conceited?
Vilhelm Modest Mimosa opens with bright blossoms. It’s neroli and violet. It’s a green, tangy citrus blossom. Because it’s a tangy, lime-like floral, it manages to remind me of linden blossoms. There’s a green grassiness that just sort of completes the spring fantasy of this perfume. Don’t get me wrong, Modest Mimosa is a mimosa soliflore. Mainstream Monday – Sniffing Popular Perfumes
For a mainstream, designer line, Elizabeth & James has some really solid scents. I love Nirvana Rose and Nirvana Bourbon is a really great vanilla perfume. When I heard that the brand launched two new perfumes, Amethyst and French Grey, I couldn’t wait to try them. I tried them as soon as they came out and here I am in December finally reviewing them. I guess that says really all you need to know about how I feel about these:
Precious Liquid is a new brand of perfumes founded by wife and husband (Geo, a model turned entrepreneur and Richard Herpin¹, a classically trained perfumer). The perfumes are labeled as if they are single note/soliflores but they are more complex than their names imply. Precious Liquid encourages layering of their scents. There’s an option to buy fragrances in a set, 3D Set², so that you can layer as you please with perfumes that were built to work with one another.
