NomaTerra Savannah Magnolia Perfume Review

Nomaterra Savannah

Whoo! There’s a perfume inspired by the state of Georgia! I’ve always wondered why there haven’t been more perfumes inspired by Savannah or at least the coastline of Georgia. A few perfumes have reminded me of Savannah but there aren’t many that claim the city as their scent inspiration. Nomaterra Savannah is one of the few.

Savannah is a raspberry green tea served with fresh grapefruit. The florals mingle with citrus and tangy raspberries. It’s all rounded out by a vanilla milkiness. The dry-down is a… Continue reading

April Aromatics Unter den Linden EDP Perfume Review

April Aromatics Unter den Linden

Linden blossoms can be filed under “Some of Victoria’s Favorite Smells”. I love the tartness and the sweetness of linden/lime blossom. Plus, it reminds me of some of my favorite places in the world. AND it’s one of those aromatics that has appeared in countless mythology and legends. I’m drawn to linden. I’m actually surprised by the few amount of perfumes that have embraced the beauty of linden.

April Aromatics Unter den Linden opens with a refreshing feeling of watercress, mint, and citrus in… Continue reading | 3 Comments

Grandiflora Magnolia Grandiflora Michel EDP Perfume Review

Grandiflora Michel

Grandiflora is a perfume line created by an Australian florist. Currently, the line consists of two perfumes inspired by magnolia, Michel and Sandrine. My experience with magnolia perfumes is that none of them smell like magnolia. I thought that I only thought this because I grew up with magnolia grandiflora. There are different varieties of magnolia and it’s possible they don’t smell like what I’m familiar with. Grandiflora Magnolia Grandiflora Michel is not like a southern magnolia. Instead it reminds me of a Dior Diorissimo for a modern era… Continue reading | 6 Comments

Hermes Jour d’Hermes EDP Perfume Review

Hermes Jour d'Hermes

I tend to like Hermès perfumes. They’re my sophisticated yet “safe” daily wear perfumes. I haven’t loved them all at first sniff. This is one of the reasons that I’ve kept sampling Jour d’Hermès. It’s a year later and I still can’t decided what I think about this one. Some days I think it is a genius “fantasy garden” floral perfume. Other days I think that it would make the best smelling shampoo in the world.

Jour d’Hermes is a fresh fragrance with a sulfuric grapefruit… Continue reading | 7 Comments

Caron Aimez-Moi EDT Perfume Review

Caron Aimez-Moi EDT

Purple Flowers Week 2014

It should come to you as no surprise that I’m a “Caron gal” if you read EauMG. There’s something about this house that I’m attracted to. Could it be the glamour? The powder puffs? Perhaps. My absolute favorite from Caron is Aimez-Moi. I’ve went through so many bottles of this “cute” violet. My relationship with the perfume is complex. It represents a shift in my perfume preferences that happened when I ventured down the perfume rabbit hole and learned a lot about… Continue reading | 6 Comments
