Strangelove NYC is a line of über-luxe perfumes that use über-luxe ingredients. I know that sounds like cliché copy. It’s not theirs, it’s mine. I was able to try this line a few months ago. Frankly, I had avoided it because of the price tag (I’m sick of falling for expensive things). But, it was a press event and it was a reason for me to take a break from school stuff and life stress and go smell stuff.
OK, so Strangelove NYC is expensive and basically… Continue reading
Houbigant Quelques Fleurs is one of those perfumes that I have history with. It was one of those perfumes that I wore before I even knew I loved perfume; we have some great memories together. Houbigant has launched a flanker to the L’Original. When someone is making a flanker to a perfume launched in the 1910’s, I’m going to assume it shares few similarities (if any at all). For the sake of this review, I’m going to focus on Jardin Secret and not L’Original. I just don’t think… Continue reading | 6 Comments
Yesterday I reviewed Amouage Figment Woman, which is a traditionally “pretty” white floral perfume. From the copy and from my experience with Figment Woman, I expected Amouage Figment Man to be a very nice woodsy fragrance.¹ Never judge a fragrance by its bottle or its copy!

Amouage has launched two new perfumes, Figment Woman and Figment Man.¹ They’re the two in the pretty aqua/blue bottles. Figment Woman is a white floral that manages to remind me of gardens in places much prettier than where I live, radiant floral perfumes of the late 80’s/early 90’s, Old Hollywood and Claude Monet paintings. Let me explain…
The opening of Figment Woman is a HUGE jasmine with something that reminds me very much of black licorice. I then realize it’s something like star anise, warm and spicy… Continue reading | 4 Comments
Precious Liquid is a new brand of perfumes founded by wife and husband (Geo, a model turned entrepreneur and Richard Herpin¹, a classically trained perfumer). The perfumes are labeled as if they are single note/soliflores but they are more complex than their names imply. Precious Liquid encourages layering of their scents. There’s an option to buy fragrances in a set, 3D Set², so that you can layer as you please with perfumes that were built to work with one another. Or you have the option to wear them… Continue reading | 5 Comments
