Floraiku Perfume Reviews – Part 2

I’m continuing from yesterday with the Part 2 Edition of my reviews of Floraïku perfumes.

FORBIDDEN INCENSE COLLECTION

This is a collection that consists of a trio of perfumes inspired by kōdō/incense ceremonies. Their bottles are black.

Floraiku Sound of a Ricochet

Sound of a Ricochet

vanilla, tonka bean, sandalwood

Sound of a Ricochet is a sweet sandalwood. Mainly it’s vanilla and sandalwood (giving me strong vibes of Elizabeth & James Nirvana Black). The sandalwood is soft and balsamic. The vanilla… Continue reading | 2 Comments

Memo Paris Inle Iris Perfume Review

Memo Inle Iris

Years ago, when I tried (and fell in love with) Memo Shams Oud, the brand was impossible to get in the U.S. I had a kind “mule” bring it back from Paris. Fast-forward. Now the brand is everywhere in the United States! This is good. Accessibility is a wonderful thing. Providence Perfume Co. Vientiane Natural Perfume Review

Providence Perfume Co. Vientiane

Do you love sandalwood? If so, you are really missing out if you haven’t tried Providence Perfume Co. Vientiane.

Review spoiler alert: Vientiane is an amazing sandalwood. It is the perfect mix of nutty, creamy, green and woodsy. From the beginning Vientiane is a very obvious sandalwood. It opens with a mix of “creamy green” sandalwood. In addition, there is a very realistic jasmine rice accord.¹ It smells like the steam from a pot jasmine rice. There’s a subtle greenness that at times I think are… Continue reading | 6 Comments

Ormonde Jayne White Gold Perfume Review

Ormonde Jayne White Gold

When it comes to Ormonde Jayne, I’m one of those people that prefers their florals. I love their style of taking something that could otherwise seem dated or overwhelming and make it feel lightweight and new. And not just light, but light, as in rays of light. I’m all about Ormonde Jayne’s radiant florals. White Gold is like the epitome of a radiant white floral.

White Gold is a radiant jasmine. It opens with the sort of pink pepper meets orange zest that has become a… Continue reading

Strangelove NYC Lost in Flowers Perfume Review

Strangelove NYC Lost in Flowers

When I first tried the Strangelove NYC line¹, I was immediately drawn to Lost in Flowers, a gorgeous floral. One thing I learned about this brand is that it does contain a high amount of naturals so patience is key. This means that these will change on your skin so a first impression is only that, a first impression.

I’m lost in flowers as soon as I put on Lost in Flowers. It’s a fresh, heady white floral that smells realistic, like standing in the… Continue reading
