I don’t actually know anyone that celebrates Valentine’s Day. I mean, it’s a weird holiday that seems OK in theory but we rarely see it in practice. Honestly, I only put together these gift guides because it gives me an excuse to talk about rose-scented things, champagne and other things that I like.
If you feel like treating yourself in the middle of February, when we’re all so over winter, here are my suggestions:
Next week is Valentine’s and this guide is a little later than I wanted it to be, but hey, like any of us celebrate Valentine’s Day, right? 😉 We don’t but it does combine so many things that I love such as roses, chocolate and champagne. My guide is all about treating yourself. The weather is cold and awful and everything is BLAH. So, treat yourself to some of life’s little luxuries:
Gals that wear bright, pale, or bold lipsticks should really invest in a lip scrub. There is nothing worse than a “statement” lip or an “understatement” lip with flakes. I waited too long before trying lip scrub products. Remember my Sara Happ review? Totally love the stuff. While at LUSH, I noticed these little lip scrubs and their little price tags. I had to give the LUSH Lip Scrub a try since I now love lip scrubs. Especially love them during the winter!

This is a product that I have been meaning to try for a long time. I kept reading great reviews of it. Since I wear bold and dark lipsticks, many being a vintage inspired matte formula, I really needed a lip scrub on hand. I was using a damp washcloth to remove flakes. I would then “marinade” my lips with Smith’s Rosebud Salve, wait, and then tissue off and apply my lipstick. This worked OK, but it wasn’t great.
