More of the 1920’s: Get the Makeup Look of Barbara Lamarr

Barbara LaMarr’s look is quite the Betty Boop look, huh? Here’s my attempt to recreate this look for the modern day. I’m not very happy with my final outcome. I could not get the right lighting!  For some reason I kept coming out excessively pink. Sunburn from the rare winter sunshine in Western Washington? I think not.

It’s Grape! I’m craving purple hued lips!

Maybe it is because I am a closet goth. But, I love the cool toned grapey purple lip look. I love a matte purple with really minimal eye makeup. I love the blue-ish tinted lip whitening sheer violet lip glosses with loud pink eyes. I love a purple hued lip stain with warm, coral eyes. I love it all. But, seriously, this is a difficult shade to wear and a difficult shade to find. It is so frustrating. So that is why I am sharing what I have found with you.

Urban Decay has released the new 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil inspired by their very successful 24/7 Eye Pencil. If you haven’t tried the eye pencils then you should. They’re very nice. And you should try these too.
