HUG your Auntie! This year, this Auntie Mame now has four nephews and one niece.¹ They’re all still really little so I’m not going to be buying them perfume or nail polish. Not yet. Question of the Week: What is your favorite season when it comes to new beauty collections?
EauMG’s Answer: I love autumn and holiday collections. I like autumn because the colors are usually darker and I like holiday because of the packaging. I typically always hate spring because pastels look stupid on me. And summer collections are usually bad for me as well. They’re always like turquoise eyeshadow and tons of bronzer.

Question of the Week: When a beauty product is labeled “Limited Edition” (LE), are you more inclined to purchase it?
EauMG’s Answer: Not really. That rarely “works” on me. When it does, it’s because it’s something that I find really special or I love the packaging (i.e. Guerlain Holiday Collections). But, in those causes I’m buying because I like them or find them special, not because they are LE.
I have a complicated relationship with L’Artisan Parfumeur Séville à L’aube that I’ll try not to bore you with but I feel it’s worth mentioning. I read “The Perfume Lover” a memoir by Denyse Beaulieu, the woman behind the blog Grain de Musc. I’m not reviewing the book, but the book is about the creation of this perfume. And being a memoir, it’s also about Denyse, her love of perfume and yes, her lovers.
This is dangerous info to leak out – I love when companies launch “artist collections”. I’ve been known to purchase items just for the limited edition packaging. Dangerous, I know, but I can’t help it. I love pretty products.
