NEST Fine Fragrances & A Review

My favorite home fragrance line has finally done it; they’ve finally made a fine personal fragrance line. The Fine Fragrance line consists of 3 perfumes that come in a 3.4 oz spray, rollerball (about .3 oz) and body cream.

The Fine Fragrance line is inspired by the artwork of 18th century artist Mary Delany and her “Paper Mosaiks”, botanical artworks meticulously created with varying shades and textures of paper. The noses behind the scents are Christophe Laudamiel (Estee Lauder Youth Dew Amber Nude, Michael Kors Island) and Jerome Epinette (Byredo Pulp, Fresh Cannabis Rose). I rarely comment on packaging… Continue reading | 7 Comments

Tommi Sooni Eau de Tommi Sooni I EDT Perfume Review

Eau de Tommi Sooni I

Tommi Sooni perfumes possess an elegance unlike any other new niche brand that I know of. These perfumes are so tastefully designed and carry this admirable dignified property that I can’t describe but I can guarantee that you can smell it.

Tommi Sooni I opens with an herbaceous, aldehydic citrus blast. I get musky bay leaf with bitter citrus leaves that remind me of fresh kaffir lime leaves. I get a mix of rose and bracing evergreens. It reminds me of a mix… Continue reading | 4 Comments

L’Artisan Parfumeur Batucada EDT Perfume Review

l'Artisan Parfumeur Batucada perfume

L’Artisan Parfumeur Batucada is a perfume lovechild between 2 perfumers separated by the Atlantic ocean, Karine Vichon of Grasse and Elisabeth Maier of São Paulo. It is a perfume that “celebrates Brazil”. I don’t know if it does that (it tries) but I do know that it is a fragrance that smells just like the way that the perfume copy on the website reads – sparkling Caïpirinha, floral sun cream, sea salt and sweaty skin.

Batucada opens with a garden mint and sweet lime zest. This… Continue reading | 11 Comments

Penhaligon’s Blenheim Bouquet EDT Fragrance Review

Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet EDT

Penhaligon’s Blenheim Bouquet was created in 1902 but it reminds me of popular men’s eau de colognes from the 1960’s.

Blenheim Bouquet opens as a very strong lemon that reminds me of Lemon Heads because it has a little bit of sugar. I almost sneeze within the first 10 minutes of wear because it’s all Lemon Heads with spicy black pepper underneath. I get a faint herbal/pine turpentine that makes this different than the average eau de  cologne. It adds a sharpness and mixes well… Continue reading | 2 Comments

LUSH Dear John EDP Perfume Review

LUSH Dear John perfume

Dear John is in LUSH’s Exclusive Perfume line. This is a perfume line of re-launched scents that LUSH discontinued at one time. Dear John is described as a “confident and assuring manly scent“. Dear John reminds me of a more concentrated version of retro masculine scents but at the same time, it doesn’t because of the addition of spice and coffee. It keeps me interested and that is more than what most modern masculines can do for me.

Let me get this out of the… Continue reading | 6 Comments
