Providence Perfume Co. Love-In-A-Mist Natural Perfume Review

Providence Perfume Love in Mist

The newest botanical perfume from Providence Perfume Co. is inspired by wildflowers. Love-In-A-Mist is a perfume inspired by the wildflower of the same name¹. I have no idea what this flower actually smells like but I can relate to the description of “barefoot summer walks through fields of flowers”.

Love-in-a-Mist opens as a heady, honeyed floral. It reminds me of a flower somewhere between lilacs and ylang-ylang. It’s indolic, peppery and powdery. My warning is that this opening could be “loud” to those that… Continue reading | 5 Comments

House of Cherry Bomb Pink Haze Perfume Review

House of Cherry Bomb Pink Haze

One of the things I’ve enjoyed about living in the NYC area is that the seasons are so distinct. For the first time in my life, I’ve experienced four very extreme, distinct seasons. In a city that is constantly changing; a city that is constantly a work in progress, I find that the seasons further punctuate this. The city never looks the same. I go away for two weeks and something that was once crumbling is now repaired while something totally new crumbles before my eyes… Continue reading | 2 Comments

EauMG’s Guide to Lilac Perfumes

Lilac Perfume Guide

One of the many reasons that I love spring is because of lilac and the blooming of other “purple flowers” like iris, heliotrope, wisteria and hyacinth. Lilacs are exceptional. Bruno Fazzolari Seyrig EDP Perfume Review

Bruno Fazzolari Seyrig

Bruno Fazzolari Seyrig is a perfume inspired by the transitional feminine perfumes of the last 60’s/early 70’s but interpreted for all of us in the present. It’s an aldehydic floral with Syringa (she used to go by “Lilac”) as its muse.

Seyrig opens with dry as a drought aldehydes. It’s aggressively adlehydic – like a mosh pit of aldehydes. Seyrig starts to wear as a fancy floral soap of rose and lilac all contained in a plastic wrapper. It really does smell like floral soap and… Continue reading | 10 Comments

BPAL Les Fleurs du Mal Perfume Oil Review

BPAL Les Fleurs du Mal

Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab or BPAL is a line of perfume oils with a cult following. This indie brand offers an extensive collection of perfumes with various collections with a “dark, Romantic gothic tones“. Naturally, that’s an aesthetic that I’m drawn too. Les Fleurs du Mal is in the Ars Moriendi collection. And how could I resist a floral perfume inspired by Baudelaire?

This time of the year, I start to crave spring florals. I start with roses and by spring I’m wearing what I call… Continue reading | 14 Comments
