When I recieved a sample of Be Tempted with a purchase, I was going to throw it out. This is a flanker to DKNY’s Be Delicious, one of the few perfumes that gives me headaches. I thought I’d save myself from the need of sitting in a dark room for hours. For some reason, I kept it. And then for an even stranger reason, I sprayed it on my skin.
Be Tempted does smell like waxy, red Twizzlers. Like OMG, it’s so much Twizzlers.
Mainstream Monday – Sniffing a Popular Perfume
A few years ago when I was in Hong Kong on a major skincare spree¹, I picked up two bottles of perfume from Shanghai Tang. Most of the perfumes that are sold in Hong Kong are also available in the U.S. I bought the Shanghai Tang ones because I haven’t seen them before (and the sales associate was so incredibly nice).

I’m a quirky one. A few years ago, I decided that I was only going to wear “red juice’¹. I purchased samples of all the perfumes that I could find with a red liquid. this resulted in me having a nice collection of myrrh-centric perfume samples. Myrrhiad opens with black licorice candies rolled in powdered sugar. What always surprises me about Myrrhiad is how gourmand it is… Continue reading | 7 Comments
I love licorice, anise and fennel flavors. And I also love these flavors in fragrances. For me, anise, star anise and sweet fennel flavors remind me of summer because they remind me of aperitifs like ouzo, pastis, raki…my favorite summer beverages. I’ve tried many licorice scents and I rather like most of them. However, my favorite is 1000 Flowers Réglisse Noire.
Réglisse Noire is a sheer, sweet licorice. There’s a balance of air and cooling herbs contrasted with warmer spices and at this stage it… Continue reading | 15 Comments
Purple Flowers Week 2014
It should come to you as no surprise that I’m a “Caron gal” if you read EauMG. There’s something about this house that I’m attracted to. Could it be the glamour? The powder puffs? Perhaps. My absolute favorite from Caron is Aimez-Moi. I’ve went through so many bottles of this “cute” violet. My relationship with the perfume is complex. It represents a shift in my perfume preferences that happened when I ventured down the perfume rabbit hole and learned a lot about… Continue reading | 6 Comments
