Another week of Roses! Rose Cheapies – 2019
Winter has left me feeling exceptionally “blah” this year so I’m basically trying to do anything that I think will remind that my feelings and this cold season are temporary. As a distraction, I did something I tell all of ya’ll not to do. I blind-bought perfumes. But, let me explain! I bought rose-centric perfumes from a discount site, all of them selling for under $25. Eris has launched a fourth perfume, Mx., a perfume named after a gender neutral English-language honorific.
One can tell from the copy, but maybe not from the note list, that Mx. is going to be something different for Eris. It doesn’t seem to be a very modern take on vintage perfumery themes. The newest perfume in the Alphabetical Series from INeKe is a fragrance inspired by the natural beauty of a little mountain town in Southern California, Idyllwild. It’s an aromatic fougère bringing together the fauna of the San Jancito mountains – evergreens, more evergreens and sage.
Idyllwild opens as lemons and evergreens. The evergreens are fresh, bright and living. There’s a a fruity tartness (rhubarb) and a freshly ground black pepper. I also get hits of fresh ginger.
