Nateeva Dominican Republic Perfume Review

Nateeva Dominican Republic perfume review

The Beach Eaus – A month of beach and ocean inspired perfumes.

I can’t believe this month is almost over…and that summer 2019 is coming to an end. I’m trying to squeeze in the last few “beach” scents while it’s still officially summer. I’ve saved my favorite and my least favorite from Nateeva as my last in this series:

Dominican Republic opens as a citrus-hued rose. It’s predominately a grapefruit-rose with a glistening bergamot. There’s also a generic herbal greenness that I really can’t put my finger on but it’s familiar… Continue reading | 4 Comments

Pekji Ruh Perfume Review

Pekji Ruh perfume

ROSE WEEK 2019  – A Coffee Rose

It’s Rose Week on EauMG! This is the annual celebration of rose-centric perfumes! This week I’m reviewing 5 fragrances that display a different aspect of rose perfumes.

Pekji is an indie brand of perfumes based in Istanbul that is now available in the U.S. I should probably start out this review with a disclaimer that the perfumer was a friend of mine before he launched his brand. Il Profvmo Black Dianthus Perfume Review

Il Profvmo Black Dianthus

When I tried Il Profvmo Black Dianthus, I expected a peppery carnation. I didn’t expect the sort of fragrance that is proficient in moon spells and has tinctures of deadly nightshade. Black Dianthus is a spicy “noir” floral amber that’s bewitching.

The overall feel of Black Dianthus is old-fashioned. It seems like a classic, something you already know, but you don’t. It’s weirder, a little more subversive than the classics. The best way for me to describe Black Dianthus is that it is a dark green. It has clove-like spices… Continue reading | 6 Comments

Burberry My Burberry Black Perfume Review

Burberry My Burberry Black

Mainstream Monday – Sniffing a Popular Perfume

My Burberry Black is a flanker¹ to My Burberry. I’m sorry to disappoint. I don’t have a sample of the original so I can’t really do an accurate comparison. I had tried My Burberry before and remember liking it. Obviously, I didn’t like it enough to buy it, but I thought it was pleasant enough and fit with the Burberry brand.

To my surprise, My Burberry Black opens with pineapple. It’s ripe, sticky, sweet pineapple. So much pineapple! I guess there’s some grapefruit/citrus in… Continue reading | 4 Comments

LURK OM 011 Natural Perfume Oil Review

Lurk OM 011 perfume

LURK is a line of natural perfumes made in New York that I’ve been meaning to try since their launch in 2012. But, you know how it can be with so many launches; it’s easy to only focus on what is literally in front of your nose.

LURK OM 011 is a natural perfume centered around oud and is described as one of the most “hedonistic” perfumes in the brand’s line-up (which consists of ten perfumes).

Without reading the note lists or copy, I immediately… Continue reading | 5 Comments
