Juliette Has a Gun Mad Madame really does smell mad and pissed off at the world. I have so much respect for a perfume that convey such emotion.
Mad Madame opens as an icy rose with metallic thorns. The rose in this is frozen and covered in ice crystals. When it begins to melt it releases a fruity-floral aroma. The flowers aren’t really distinguishable but the jammy blackcurrant is. There’s a bouquet of headiness over white musk. The dry-down is one mad patchouli… Continue reading | 14 Comments

Juliette Has A Gun Midnight Oud is one of those fragrances that claims to be an oud, but it is really a rose-leather. And this isn’t a bad thing! Why are some fragrances ashamed of who they really are?
Midnight Oud wears linear on me but I like it. The opening is different than other rose-ouds I’m familiar with. It’s the same theme of rich saffron, smooth woods, and “new” leather except there is this “sharp” rose geranium. This rose is crisp, reminding me of… Continue reading | 11 Comments
