Acqua di Parma Chinotto di Liguria Perfume Review

Acqua di Parma Chinotto di Liguria perfume review

I haven’t really kept up with many recent perfume launches. And when I say recent, I don’t mean things in the past month…or even the past six months. I’m talking like the past few years. It became too overwhelming to try new things when there were new things being launched every single day. When I stopped caring about new launches (shocking, I know, I have a perfume blog), I found myself feeling happier and more… Continue reading | 2 Comments

Vilhelm A Lilac A Day Perfume Review

Vilhelm A Lilac A Day

PURPLE FLOWERS WEEK 2018

It’s an annual tradition on EauMG to feature “purple flowers” on the week of Nowruz/Vernal Equinox. “Purple flowers” are what I call flowers that (usually) have purple blossoms and bloom in spring: lilacs, violets, iris, heliotrope, hyacinth and wisteria (when I’m feeling generous). Ramon Monegal Agar Musk EDP Perfume Review

Ramon Monegal Agar Musk

Ramon Monegal Parfums Agar Musk reminds me of leather gloves and fur trimmed coats.

Agar Musk opens with a laundered oud and nutmeg spice. In the background, there is a hint to new leather. Oud is not the focus with this fragrance. Only a “pinch” is used. There’s a bit of warm spices completing the dry woods and subtle leather. The musks are slightly fruity, warm and cuddly. Most of the wear of Agar Musk is dry woods, musk and a “fresh” vetiver.

Agar Musk is… Continue reading | 3 Comments

Keiko Mecheri Cuir Cordoba EDP Perfume Review

Keiko Mecheri Cuir Cordoba

I think I’ve found my perfume for the festivities and fêtes that will be happening over the next few months: Keiko Mecheri Cuir Cordoba.

In the opening of Cuir Cordoba I get aldehydes, stewed fruits and cedar (lead pencils). There’s violet petals and incense. Iris enters the mix. The heart is an orris-violet-incense and it wears like this for most of the wear. With time it becomes more powdery with iris and benzoin. Spiced cedar peaks through the incense haze. The dry-down is… Continue reading | 3 Comments

Serge Lutens La Fille de Berlin EDP Perfume Review

Serge Lutens La Fille de Berlin

While reading through the copy and watching the video for Serge Lutens La Fille de Berlin, I felt an uneasiness. I couldn’t describe it but it made me feel uneasy, the video in particular. It seemed like some sort of rapist-y fantasy directed by Jean-Luc Godard. The copy, the esoteric video, the interviews with Lutens left me feeling uneasy in a way that a perfume has never done before. Regardless of interpretation, I think that most of us will agree that the backstory is… Continue reading | 26 Comments
