When I tried Il Profvmo Black Dianthus, I expected a peppery carnation. I didn’t expect the sort of fragrance that is proficient in moon spells and has tinctures of deadly nightshade. Black Dianthus is a spicy “noir” floriental that’s bewitching.

Precious Liquid is a new brand of perfumes founded by wife and husband (Geo, a model turned entrepreneur and Richard Herpin¹, a classically trained perfumer).  The perfumes are labeled as if they are single note/soliflores but they are more complex than their names imply. I can’t really think of a genre in perfumery that is more polarizing than “green”. So many people, novices and experienced perfume wears, have told me they don’t like green perfumes. PURPLE FLOWERS WEEK 2017

It’s an annual tradition on EauMG to feature “purple flowers” on the week of Nowruz/Spring Equinox. “Purple flowers” are what I call flowers that (usually) have purple blossoms and bloom in spring: lilacs, violets, iris, heliotrope, hyacinth and wisteria (when I’m feeling generous). These are the sort of florals that make me think of spring. Plus, it gives me an excuse to talk about some of my favorite floral notes.
